Ryon Healy Brings Thump To Mariners Offense
7 years agoSeattle Mariners first basemen/third basemen Ryon Healy was acquired in the offseason to provide something to the first base position that was lacking for Seattle last year: power. Healy's 25 home runs last season are more than 2017 Mariners first baseman Danny Valencia and Yonder Alonso had combined. The 26-year old has an opportunity to add another threat to the improved Mariners offense and could blow past the 71 runs that he drove in during the 2017 season. He will need to improve on his .297 on base percentage with runners in scoring position last season and stay consistent throughout a long season after hitting only 6 home runs in the second half of the season. Regardless, Healy should be an improvement at first base from an offensive standpoint for Seattle and his arrow is pointing up as an intriguing fantasy bench piece in upcoming drafts.
