Ryan Tannehill 2023 Outlook: Great Value In Superflex Leagues?
2 years agoTennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill has had a mostly successful stint as the team's starter since Week 7 of the 2019 season, posting 12,831 yards, 89 touchdowns, and 33 interceptions in 57 games. However, Tennessee has failed to get over the hump in the playoffs and Tannehill is entering his age-35 season. That said, the team's acquisition of DeAndre Hopkins means Tennessee is not committing to a rebuild, so Tannehill could be the year-long starter once again. New general manager Ran Carthon selected Will Levis in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, but Tannehill is likely the best option for an organization that views itself as a win-now team. Since Levis is already 24 years old and won't have a fifth-year option, many speculated he could be the starter at some point in 2023. Unless Tennessee falls off the rails in the AFC South playoff race, that probably won't be the case. All of a sudden, Tannehill has a promising group of pass-catchers in Hopkins, Treylon Burks, and Chigoziem Okonkwo. The veteran signal-caller posted QB1 seasons in 2020 and 2021 when he had adequate weapons and given his ADP around the QB30-32 slots, he now looks like a homerun QB2 or QB3 selection in superflex formats. If he stays healthy and keeps the team afloat, a mid-level QB2 fantasy season is well within his range of outcomes.
