Ryan Tannehill 2020 Outlook: Will Be a Solid Higher-End QB2 Pick
5 years agoRyan Tannehill was a complete fantasy afterthought during the 2019 draft season. He had finished as fantasy QB23 in 2018 and was projected to be a backup for the Titans. Tannehill had never been a quality fantasy starter previously and Tennessee was not expected to have a very productive passing game. In Week 7, though, Tannehill took over as the starter and completely exceeded expectations the rest of the way. He scored 19-plus fantasy points in all but one game from Weeks 7 through 16. He threw at least two TD passes in all but one outing during that span and even threw for 300 yards three times. As a bonus, he also rushed for four TDs during that stretch. He also took the team on his back at times, throwing 12 TD passes with three interceptions when the Titans were playing from behind. Tannehill threw for just 372 yards in three postseason games as the Titans heavily rode Derrick Henry to a surprising AFC Championship Game appearance, but you should not be concerned, as Tennessee will display more offensive balance when play begins again. The Titans will continue to lean on Henry first and foremost, but the ultra-efficient Tannehill had a 70.3 completion percentage last year and will make the most of his throws again. Tannehill has an ADP of 104 and the RotoBaller staff has him ranked as the No. 16 QB. He certainly should be viewed as a higher-end QB2 who can serve you well enough as a streamer if needed. Tannehill should throw for 3,700 plus yards and approach 26 TD passes.
