Ryan Braun Hopes For A Bounce Back
7 years agoRyan Braun was limited to 380 at-bats in 2017. During that time, he had 17 home runs and 12 stolen bases. At 34 years old, it is expected there will be some amount of decline in performance and potential playing time. Aside from batting average (.268), the rest of Braun's slash line, strikeout percentage, and walk percentage were relatively in line with recent years. He had a .336 on-base percentage, .487 slugging, and 17.9 K% to go with his 8.9 BB%. Braun also hit the ball harder than he has since 2007, 39% hard hit. Braun still has power and speed, but there is a concern of his playing time being limited due to health concerns. He might be asked to split time at multiple positions to increase his longevity and maximize his bat at the plate, stating that he is ok with playing first base or even second base. Braun’s consistent stats combined with the improved Brewers offensive lineup can potentially make Braun a value pick in round 10.
