Robert Woods 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Perennial WR2 As The Titans New Top Target
2 years agoThere are four guarantees in life; death, taxes, former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco will always be open, and Borreal Bobby will be underrated in fantasy leagues. I am shocked how few people have discussed the impact that A.J. Brown traded to the Philadelphia Eagles leaving will have on Tennessee Titans wide receiver Robert Woods. The Titans acquired Woods from the Rams during the offseason. Last season, Woods was the WR12 through the first nine weeks of the season. The 30-year-old caught 45 passes for 556 yards and four touchdowns over nine games before suffering a torn ACL in mid-November. Although Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is a step up from Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill, we have seen the veteran support fantasy receivers. Although rookie wide receiver Treylon Burks is a great prospect, there has not been a lot of great news coming out of camp. Whether you think his asthma is an issue or not, I don’t expect he will make an immediate impact, leaving Woods as Tannehill’s guy. This offense is open for the taking, and it’s hard to see Woods being supplanted by recently signed tight end Austin Hooper, wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, or Burks. Keep tabs on Woods' ACL recovery, but if he is ready to go for Week 1, make sure you don’t sleep (again) on the perennial WR2 this year.
