3/19:Having too many capable starting pitchers is a “problem” a lot of teams would love to have; right now the Mets find themselves with an embarrassment of riches at the position. Robert Gsellman is a perfect example of that as a key cog in the team’s 2016 playoff run, and now he continues to demonstrate he’s worthy of the fifth rotation spot to start the year. Against the Cardinals on Saturday, Gsellman allowed one run on four hits and a walk over five innings pitched while striking out three. For the spring, he owns a 2.25 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with seven strikeouts over 12 innings pitched. He remains the heavy favorite to take the last rotation spot over Zack Wheeler to start the year, but his possible (and potentially, probably) route to the bullpen upon Wheeler’s Major League return caps his fantasy value.--Andrew Bua - RotoBaller
