3 years agoTorrey Smith, by virtue of his career production and $40 million contract, ranks as the San Francisco 49ers' de facto No. 1 wide receiver entering the 2016 season. After that, it's anyone's guess. Young wideouts Quinton Patton (fourth year), Bruce Ellington (third), DeAndrew White (second) and DeAndre Smelter (second), along with veteran Jerome Simpson and CFL signee Eric Rogers, are all in the mix. Of that group, Patton had the best on-field production in 2015, finishing with 30 receptions for 394 yards and a touchdown. Patton may very well emerge as the No. 2 wide receiver opposite Smith, but he'll be limited by San Francisco's underwhelming offense. Anything more than 600 yards and a handful of touchdowns would be a major surprise. Let him start the season on the waiver wire.--Andrew C. Lovell - RotoBaller
