7/26:The Philadelphia Phillies have traded their lone All-Star of the year, reliever Pat Neshek, to the Colorado Rockies. The trading of Neshek appeared to be in the cards with the club heading towards an unsuccessful season. The 36-year-old has been outstanding coming out of the Philadelphia bullpen, pitching to a 1.12 ERA in 43 appearances. In return, the Rockies have sent three prospects back to Philadelphia. The centerpiece of the trade is infielder Jose Gomez, ranked as the 21st top prospect in the Colorado organization. Playing at Single-A ball this season, the 20-year-old is hitting .324 with 100 hits and 18 stolen bases. The other two acquisitions are right-handed pitchers J.D. Hammer and Alejandro Requena. Hammer, 24, has posted a 2.36 ERA with 13 saves in 36 games at Single-A this season. Requena, meanwhile, has also spent his season in Single-A, posting a 2.85 ERA with an 8-3 record in 19 starts.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
