3 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop Pat Valaika, who is filling in for shortstop Trevor Story, did his best to imitate the injured slugger on Sunday by lacing a pair of two-run homers to help the Rox defeat the Dodgers. Valaika, 24, hasn't been noted for his bat throughout the minor leagues -- he hit just two homers in 129 combined at-bats between Triple-A and the MLB last season -- but there's little questioning the power of Coors Field and the ability of a player to grow into their frame. He's actually got seven extra-base hits (four doubles, three homers) through just 43 plate appearances this season, but just has four singles to go with them for a .268 average. Those in deeper formats should still give him a spin however, as a spot in this stacked lineup in a hitter's park shouldn't be taken lightly.--Nick Mariano - RotoBaller
