Pat Freiermuth 2021 Outlook: Better Dynasty Pick Than Redraft
4 years agoThe Steelers drafted tight end Pat Freiermuth in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Freiermuth is a big-bodied TE, listed at 6'5, 258 pounds, who can move a bit with the ball in his hands after the catch. He put up 310 yards and a touchdown in just four games in a shortened 2020. His best season came in 2019, when he caught 43 balls for 507 yards and seven scores. Year one tight ends hardly produce for fantasy. Plus, he will be behind Eric Ebron on the depth chart this season. Freiermuth is more of a dynasty pick, as he could be the Steelers number one tight end as soon as 2022. But for redraft, there is no reason to draft the rookie. He could become a waiver wire addition if Ebron was to miss time.
