Texas Rangers right-hander
Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) threw 50-plus pitches over three simulated innings of live batting practice Saturday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. Eovaldi could rejoin the Rangers' rotation during the upcoming week if he doesn't suffer any setbacks, according to Landry. The Rangers have gone all of June without Eovaldi, who hasn't pitched since May 27 because of an injured right triceps. Before he landed on the shelf, Eovaldi performed like one of the top starters in baseball. The 35-year-old opened the season with an elite 1.56 ERA (3.37 xERA) and 73 strikeouts against 10 walks in 69 1/3 innings.

The Texas Rangers have recalled infielder
Justin Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock, the team announced. Foscue will take the roster spot of infielder
Jake Burger (oblique), who went on the 10-day injured list with a strained left oblique. Foscue joined the Rangers as the 14th overall pick in the 2020 draft and debuted in the majors last year, when he collected a mere two hits in 42 at-bats. The 26-year-old has produced good numbers at the Triple-A level, however, with a .269/.392/.474 line across 1,011 plate appearances. He has batted .269/.360/.487 with 10 home runs, 37 RBI, and 32:27 K:BB in 229 plate appearances with Round Rock this year. Defensively, Foscue has divided his time this season between first and second base. Foscue will give the Rangers some depth in the infield during Burger's absence, but he's unlikely to make much of an impact from a fantasy standpoint.

Baltimore Orioles third baseman
Jordan Westburg (hand) exited the team's game against the New York Yankees on Saturday with left-hand discomfort, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports. Westburg started the game batting second as the Orioles' designated hitter. He drew a walk in his lone plate appearance and was later replaced by
Coby Mayo. Westburg has already missed a significant portion of this season with an injury. He was on the shelf from late April until June 10 with a strained left hamstring. The 26-year-old has held his own since coming back, having gone 10-for-39 (.256) with three home runs, eight RBI, and eight runs scored in 11 games. The hope is that he won't require another IL stint, but the O's should have more information later in the day.

The Atlanta Braves have placed ace
Chris Sale (rib cage) on the 15-day injured list with a fractured left rib cage, retroactive to June 19, Grant McAuley of 92.9 The Game reports. Atlanta recalled left-hander
Austin Cox from Triple-A Gwinnett to take Sale's roster spot. Sale suffered the injury in the ninth inning on a diving play against the New York Mets on Wednesday. The reigning National League Cy Young winner was dominant over 8 2/3 scoreless innings that night. It was the latest excellent outing in a season full of them for Sale, who has once again been among the premier starters in the sport. Across 89 1/3 innings, the 36-year-old lefty has pitched to a 2.52 ERA with 114 strikeouts against 26 walks. There's no replacing that type of production. Sale will now miss at least two weeks, which is a major blow for both the Braves and fantasy managers.

Jake Burger (oblique) on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain. In a corresponding move, the Rangers promoted infielder
Justin Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock. Burger was lifted from Friday's game due to tightness in his side. However, it has been revealed that Burger suffered an oblique strain, which could keep him out of action for a few weeks. Since returning to the majors after his demotion, Burger has begun to find his footing, posting a .243/.260/.456 slash line with eight doubles, seven home runs, 17 RBI, and one stolen base. During his first 30 games of the season, Burger held a .561 OPS. While he remains out of action, fantasy managers should expect
Josh Smith to see most of the time at first base. Foscue could earn opportunities, but will likely have a role on the bench.

Connor Wong. Fantasy managers should expect Narvaez to return to action on Sunday. Narvaez has enjoyed an impressive campaign through the first half, holding a .270/.356/.439 line with six home runs and a stolen base. During this stretch, he has generated a 12.1% barrel rate and a 44.7% hard-hit rate. He also sits in the 98th percentile in Blocks Above Average. Wong is best to fade in DFS this afternoon as he enters this game holding a low .154 AVG.

New York Mets starting pitcher
Sean Manaea (oblique) struck out seven batters during his rehab appearance on Friday evening. In this outing, the left-hander was deployed as a bulk reliever behind right-hander
Brandon Sproat. Manaea was able to log 5 1/3 innings of work. During this game, Manaea struck out seven batters while allowing just two hits and one run. He did not allow a free pass. This was a strong outing as the left-hander has spent the previous three outings of his rehab assignment with High-A. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears he will need to make at least one more appearance with Triple-A Syracuse. However, Manaea appears to have found his footing and is worth adding in all leagues before he is activated from the IL in early July.

The Baltimore Orioles have placed catcher
Adley Rutschman (oblique) on the 10-day injured list with an oblique strain. In a corresponding move, the Orioles promoted 27-year-old backstop
Maverick Handley from Triple-A Norfolk. Rutschman was held out of action on Friday and was not slated to be in Saturday's starting lineup as well due to this injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, as it is unclear when the catcher sustained this injury. Since June 3, the 27-year-old has begun to find his footing in the batter's box, posting a .309/.381/.509 slash line with two doubles, three home runs, five RBI, and an 8:7 K:BB. However, prior to this surge, Rutschman held a .203 AVG with a .632 OPS. While he remains sidelined,
Gary Sanchez should handle the majority of the catching duties.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder
Garrett Mitchell (oblique/shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury during his rehab outing on Friday evening. Mitchell suffered this injury while diving toward first base. Mitchell has been sidelined with an oblique strain he suffered in April. However, this shoulder injury occurred on his left arm, which was surgically repaired due to a torn labrum during the 2023 campaign. Mitchell underwent early imaging, but the results were inconclusive. For the time being, the former top prospect is being taken off his rehab assignment. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears Mitchell could face another lengthy absence. During the first 25 games of the regular season, Mitchell held a .206/.286/.294 line with three stolen bases. He is only worth stashing in deeper NL-only leagues.

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman/designated hitter
Yandy Diaz helped power his team in Friday’s 14-8 win over the Detroit Tigers. He went 3-for-5 with two home runs and two RBI. Díaz has been a somewhat surprising source of power so far this season, as he's already recorded 12 homers after hitting just 14 in 145 games in 2024. Díaz has also been useful in batting average (.277) and RBI (44). The Rays lead MLB in runs scored in June, and Díaz has been a huge contributor, batting .400 this month. He's a solid starting option at first base or corner infield in all formats.

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander
Tanner Scott picked up his 15th save of the season in his team's 6-5 win over the Washington Nationals. However, Scott allowed a solo home run to Nationals shortstop
CJ Abrams. Homers have been a persistent issue for Scott this season, as his 1.29 HR/9 allowed represents his highest mark since 2019. That's been the main driver of his 3.79 ERA, as his 0.95 WHIP and 26.5% K-BB% suggest he should receive better luck in terms of runs allowed going forward. Scott has seemingly settled in as the Dodgers' primary closer. He's recorded saves in five out of his last seven appearances and should continue to see consistent opportunities to close games.

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher
Max Scherzer (thumb) is expected to throw a side session on Sunday. He was initially expected to complete this session on Saturday. However, it appears he has not faced a setback as he remains in play to potentially return next week when the Blue Jays open a series against the Cleveland Guardians. Scherzer has been held out of action since making his Toronto debut with a thumb injury. The right-hander began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo earlier in June. In his most recent outing, the right-hander logged 4 1/3 shutout innings with one hit, two walks, and eight strikeouts. When Scherzer returns, he will likely replace
Eric Lauer or
Spencer Turnbull in the starting rotation. He is worth a look as a depth starting pitcher in all standard leagues, given his strikeout upside.

Chicago Cubs left-hander
Shota Imanaga (hamstring) will come off the 15-day injured list and make a start with the big-league club next week against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals, according to 670 The Score's Bruce Levine. The 31-year-old Japanese southpaw hasn't pitched for the Cubs since May 4 when he suffered a strained hamstring against the Milwaukee Brewers. He made three minor-league rehab starts in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and Triple-A Iowa and threw 10 1/3 scoreless innings with 16 strikeouts and two walks, although two of those outings were in the ACL. While Imanaga will be a little more shaky as a starting fantasy option in his first start back against the Cardinals, he should absolutely be rostered in all fantasy formats. He went 3-2 with a 2.82 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 34 strikeouts in eight starts earlier this year before tweaking his hammy.
