3 days agoLas Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, while speaking at his youth football camp, made it known he plans to remain with the team. Things were chaotic for Las Vegas last season, with Adams expressing his unhappiness with his role in the offense. Not only that, the franchise fired head coach Josh McDaniels in October, resulting in Antonio Pierce taking over. But now that Pierce no longer has an interim tag attached to his name; there's optimism things will go much more smoothly this season. The 31-year-old is coming off a rough season, amassing 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns off 103 catches. Yet, it appears Adams is the happiest he's been in a while, meaning he could easily turn things around during the 2024-25 campaign and return to being an elite fantasy wideout, assuming the team gets stable play at the quarterback spot.Source: Tashan Reed
3 days agoMiami Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips (Achilles) continues to rehab after tearing his Achilles in the Week 12 win over the New York Jets in November. After undergoing surgery and ditching a walking boot, the 24-year-old appears to have a chance to be ready for Week 1 of the 2024-25 campaign. Phillips, while speaking with ESPN on Saturday, stated he's "attacking it every day" while adding he'll "definitely" be back healthy for the season. The 2021 No. 18 overall pick has been a menace since entering the league, totaling 146 tackles (88 solo), 22 sacks, and one interception in 42 career games. With that in mind, while Phillips' optimism is encouraging for IDP managers, he could have a tough time getting back to form after coming off such a devastating injury.Source: Adam Stites
3 days agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins remains without a new contract. He also hasn't been traded, something he recently requested. However, it appears there's still hope that the wideout plays at least one more season in Cincinnati, even if it's under a $21.8 million franchise tag. While speaking to Charlie Clifford of WXIX-TV, Higgins anticipates suiting up for the Bengals for the 2024-25 campaign. Not only that, he mentioned he's looking forward to it while expressing his fondness for the franchise and the city. With that said, Higgins is coming off a down year, amassing 42 catches for 656 yards and five touchdowns. He also missed five games due to injury. But if anyone can bounce back for fantasy managers, it's the 2020 No. 33 overall pick, especially if Joe Burrow (wrist) can stay healthy. Both sides have until mid-July to agree to a new contract.Source: Charlie Clifford
4 days agoAccording to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is anticipated to earn a new contract. Not only that, his new deal is expected to make him one of the NFL's highest-paid signal-callers. Of course, there are details both sides need to work out, although more intense discussions may not come until after the 2024 NFL Draft. The 25-year-old had some rough showings during the 2023-24 campaign. However, he still ended the year by throwing for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Love also led the Packers to the playoffs, with the team losing to the 49ers by three points during the NFC Divisional Round. While Green Bay's offense will look somewhat different come Week 1, Love easily has a top-10 fantasy upside, and it's also possible he will enter the elite quarterback conversation soon, assuming he hasn't already.Source: Jeremy Fowler
4 days agoAccording to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, speaking on Sunday morning's episode of SportsCenter, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is expected to receive a contract extension worth $45-50 million per year. The veteran signal-caller has been open about his fondness for Detroit. It appears the franchise is also pleased with his performance, considering the Lions made it to the NFC Championship and narrowly beat the 49ers to earn a trip to the Super Bowl. Without a doubt, Goff has been instrumental in turning things around for the Lions. He finished the 2023-24 campaign by amassing 4,575 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, some of the best numbers of his career. From a fantasy standpoint, Goff's stock has never been higher, especially since he has plenty of weapons in his arsenal, including Amon-Ra St. Brown, who finished the year as one of the league's most potent wideouts. Nonetheless, both sides still have some things to work out, although a new deal could come soon.Source: Jeremy Fowler
4 days agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk recently unfollowed the 49ers' account on the social media platform Instagram. He's also voiced his displeasure regarding his contract situation. However, the wideout's agent, Ryan Williams, responding to a post on X, denied that a trade had been requested. Aiyuk is coming off his best season, amassing 75 catches for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. Understandably, he wants a new deal instead of playing under his fifth-year option, which would pay him just over $14 million in 2024-25. Nonetheless, while general manager John Lynch has stated the organization doesn't plan to deal Aiyuk, it seems things aren't moving in a favorable direction. As usual in this type of situation, more updates should be on the horizon.Source: Josh Alper
4 days agoAccording to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb have yet to have "substantial talks" regarding a new contract. The wideout is slotted to make nearly $18 million on his fifth-year option. Training camp will be here soon, meaning a holdout could be on the horizon if a new deal isn't done. In the meantime, there's also a chance Lamb won't participate in any of the Cowboys' team activities in the next couple of months. With that said, the 25-year-old is a proven pass-catcher. He had a fantastic season in 2023-24, finishing with 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns off 135 catches, all career-highs. Although Lamb is expected to remain a first-round fantasy option, that may change if an agreement isn't reached shortly, especially if it means Lamb might miss a few games to begin the year.Source: Calvin Watkins

5 days agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk remains without a long-term contract. While general manager John Lynch indicated that the team doesn't have plans to trade the wideout, the relationship between both sides doesn't appear to be moving in a positive direction. He has already been open about his desire to earn big money. However, in the most recent development in the situation, it was discovered that Aiyuk unfollowed the 49ers' account on the social media platform Instagram. This isn't the first time a player has done this kind of thing. Yet, it's still not an ideal scenario for a club hoping to make it back to the Super Bowl. Aiyuk is coming off his best season since entering the league in 2020, amassing 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns off 75 catches. With numbers like that, the Niners will need to pay in order to keep him on the roster for years to come. The 26-year-old is due to make just over $14 million during the 2024-25 campaign.Source: Clayton Holloway
6 days agoFree-agent linebacker Matthew Adams has signed with the New York Giants, as reported by NFL insider Field Yates. The 2018 seventh-round pick spent last season with the Cleveland Browns after one year with the Chicago Bears and four years with the Indianapolis Colts. The University of Houston product has racked up 98 tackles (68 solo), two forced fumbles, and 11 run stuffs in 85 career games. In all likelihood, he'll be utilized as a special teamer and reserve linebacker in new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen's new system.Source: Field Yates
6 days agoThe Cleveland Browns are trading offensive tackle Leroy Watson to the Tennessee Titans for the No. 227 overall pick (seventh round) in the 2024 NFL Draft. Watson spent time with the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers after being undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. He saw his first NFL action last season with Cleveland, playing 55 offensive snaps in seven games. Tennessee needs depth on the offensive line, and legendary offensive line coach Bill Callahan left the Browns to join his son, Brian, in Tennessee for the 2024 campaign. That is the likely connection that led to this trade.Source: Ari Meirov -- 33rd Team
6 days agoUniversity of Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey is visiting with the Atlanta Falcons on Friday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He also recently met with the Cleveland Browns. McConkey didn't have the most prolific college career, but he posted 119 receptions for 1,687 yards and 14 touchdowns in 39 career games. He's also a dynamic weapon in the backfield, compiling 216 yards and four touchdowns on just 13 rushing attempts. After running a sub-4.4 forty-yard dash at the 2024 NFL Combine, he could be selected as early as the late first round. Atlanta could use more speed in the new-look Kirk Cousins offense, so it will be interesting to see if they make a move to keep McConkey in the state of Georgia to begin his NFL career.Source: Ian Rapoport
6 days agoFree-agent wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown has signed with the New Orleans Saints, according to NFL insider Ari Meirov. Originally a sixth-round pick out of Notre Dame by the Green Bay Packers in 2018, St. Brown has been utilized as a depth receiver in his six NFL seasons. In 60 career games, the 27-year-old has hauled in 63 of his 110 targets for 928 yards and two touchdowns. He's added 80 yards as a runner. Based on his career trajectory, he's unlikely to make a fantasy impact in New Orleans this year. He can be safely ignored for now.Source: https://twitter.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1778809200216289422
6 days agoThe New Orleans Saints have signed free-agent quarterback Kellen Mond, according to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team. The former Texas A&M Aggie was a third-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2021 NFL Draft after a strong college career, but he has not found his footing in the NFL. He has spent time with the Vikings, Browns, and Colts, but his last game action was in 2021. He completed just two passes for five yards. New Orleans has quarterbacks Jake Haener and Nathan Peterman on the roster, so it would be a surprise if Mond makes the team for the regular season.Source: Ari Meirov -- 33rd Team
6 days agoThe Buffalo Bills are hosting Oregon wide receiver Troy Franklin for a visit. Franklin is drawing a ton of interest after posting elite numbers during his final year at Oregon. He totaled 1,383 receiving yards with 14 touchdowns on 81 receptions. Franklin has already visited with the Browns, Jets, Panthers, and Patriots this offseason. The Bills are dangerously thin at wideout after losing their two top receivers. Franklin doesn't project as a superstar in the league, but could certainly make some noise in Buffalo, assuming they decide to draft him.Source: Mike Garafolo
