Zack Gelof came up clutch for the team during Monday's game against the New York Yankees. The young infielder broke a scoreless tie with a go-ahead two-run home run in the ninth inning. This was the first time that Gelof had recorded an RBI since April 10. The A's recently dropped Gelof to the sixth-hole, which shouldn't be surprising given how much he has struggled. Most fantasy managers can stay away given his current .205/.271/.352 slash line.

Carlos Rodon was tough to hit during Monday's game against the Oakland Athletics. The left-hander threw seven scoreless innings while allowing only one hit in what ended up being a no-decision. Sadly for Rodon, the Yankees offense didn't do much during this game. The Yankees ended up giving up two runs in the ninth inning and lost 2-0. Rodon is posting a solid 2.70 ERA, even though his 22/13 K/BB ratio isn't pretty. Fantasy managers will take this strong outing, but don't expect it every start from Rodon.

Quinn Priester will get another start on Wednesday to face the visiting Milwaukee Brewers. Priester will get another shot at it for Pittsburgh despite allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits (three home runs) with one walk in 4 1/3 innings in his season debut last Friday against the Boston Red Sox. The 23-year-old is going to need to do better this week against a tough Brewers lineup if he wants any chance of remaining in the Pirates' rotation moving forward. The former 18th overall pick in 2019 out of high school just hasn't been very good so far in the big leagues, dating back to his debut in 2023, as he's gone 3-4 with a 7.79 ERA and 1.71 WHIP with 28 walks and 38 strikeouts in 54 1/3 innings over 11 outings (nine starts).

Ricky Tiedemann (elbow), who is currently on the injured list at Triple-A Buffalo, is seeing team doctors in Toronto this week. Per the Blue Jays, Tiedemann's next steps will be determined from there. It's usually not a good thing when pitchers are meeting with doctors, but we won't know the true extent of the young pitcher's damage until the results of his meeting with doctors is revealed. The 21-year-old southpaw has been dealing with elbow discomfort after recording a 5.63 ERA and 2.00 WHIP in his first three starts for Buffalo this year. Tiedemann also missed time due to shoulder and biceps issues in 2023, so it's concerning for the No. 26 overall prospect this year, per MLB Pipeline. Even if this isn't a season-ending injury for Tiedemann, we may not see him in the big leagues in 2024.

Landon Knack will make another start on Wednesday versus the Washington Nationals on the road. Knack, 26, made his major-league debut last week against these very same Nats in a start and allowed two earned runs on four hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out four in five innings in a loss. Knack won't be the worst sleeper streamer against a weak Nationals lineup for Wednesday's slate, but there's also a fair amount of risk for a pitcher making his second MLB start on the road. Brenton Doyle (chest) is back in center field and is batting seventh on Monday against the visiting San Diego Padres and right-hander
Dylan Cease. The Rockies held Doyle out as a precaution for the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners after he suffered a chest injury in Game 1. The 25-year-old has limited fantasy upside while hitting down near the bottom of Colorado's batting order, but that hasn't taken away from his hot start in 2024. The former fourth-rounder in 2019 from Shepherd University his hitting .289 (22-for-76) with three home runs, seven RBI and two stolen bases. Doyle is hitless so far in two career at-bats against Cease.

Jakob Junis (head, shoulder) was hit in the head by a line drive during pre-game batting practice before Monday's contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Junis is currently on the 15-day injured list with a right-shoulder injury. He was alert and responsive and was taken for more observation by an ambulance at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. The 31-year-old will surely be put through the league's concussion protocol, and it's unclear right now if his head injury will affect how quickly he'll be able to return from the IL for the Brewers. Junis made just one start on April 2 against the Minnesota Twins before going on the shelf with his shoulder injury. In his lone start, he gave up just one earned run on three hits while walking one and striking out four in four innings for a no-decision.

Andruw Monasterio to Nashville. The 37-year-old Miley started the 2024 season on the injured list with a left-shoulder injury and he also missed time in 2023 with elbow and lat ailments. Miley is set to undergo tests on Tuesday and could be out for an extended amount of time. Myers is the most logical choice to fill in for Miley on Tuesday and start against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Miley already wasn't really an attractive option for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues before the injury.

Ozzie Albies (toe) started hitting on Monday and could still return from the injured list on Friday when he's eligible to come off the 10-day injured list. Albies has progress quickly from his fractured big toe, which has to music to his fantasy managers' ears. The 27-year-old shouldn't be available on the waiver wire in any fantasy leagues despite his injury, which came when he was hit by a pitch last week. With Albies out,
Luis Guillorme and
David Fletcher have both seen playing time at the keystone in Atlanta. The switch-hitting Albies had gone 20-for-63 (.317) with two home runs, 14 RBI and two stolen bases at the time of his injury, so hopefully he can pick up where he left off when he's back. Albies is a must-start on the daily when he's in Atlanta's lineup.

Aaron Judge went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Monday's 2-0 loss to the Oakland A's. The season hasn't been kind to him, as he is averaging .167 (15-for-90) with five doubles, three homers, 15 runs, 11 RBI, 17 walks, and 31 strikeouts over 23 games. Judge should be able to find some hits within the series against the A's as the matchups favor him and the Yankees. Even with the struggles, Judge is a must-start in all league formats, providing power when he connects.

Manager Rocco Baldelli didn't commit to Varland taking his next turn through the team's starting rotation after another subpar performance on Sunday, when he allowed four runs in just 2 2/3 innings in a loss to the Detroit Tigers. The 26-year-old former 15th-round pick in 2019 out of Concordia University has lost all four of his starts so far in 2024 and is sporting an ugly 9.18 ERA and 2.16 WHIP with nine walks and 18 strikeouts in 16 2/3 innings pitched. He's already allowed six home runs in four starts after allowing 16 all of last year in a career-high 68 innings pitched. Prospect

Jonathan Cannon. Kepler is in right field and is batting fifth. The 31-year-old left-handed hitter looked good on his short minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul and should go back to the strong side of a platoon in right field against right-handed pitchers. His return is bad news for both
Trevor Larnach and
Carlos Santana moving forward. Fantasy managers using Kepler in deeper leagues will hope he can start swinging the bat like he did on his rehab assignment after getting just one hit in his first 20 at-bats of the season before landing on the IL.

Carlos Santana will be the designated hitter. Buxton has so far stayed healthy in 2024, but he's hitting a lowly .217 (15-for-69) with no home runs, nine RBI and no stolen bases in 20 games played. There's still time for the 30-year-old to turns things around, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect frequent running on the base paths to be Buxton's thing anymore. Martin will be a low-upside DFS sleeper in the nine-hole on Monday.
