Brandon Nimmo Goes Yard Twice in Win
Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs and a walk in his team's 11-4 win against the Philadelphia Phillies. It's the 32-year-old's second two-homer effort in the last ten days, giving him 15 on the season. Nimmo missed a few games with a calf issue in late May, but has been on a tear over the 24 games since. Across that stretch, he's 30-for-94 (.319) with five doubles, seven homers, five steals, 17 runs scored, and 14 RBI. It's raised his triple slash to a much more respectable .249/.312/.465 and boasts the highest hard-hit rate of his career (49.8%). The move up to the two-hole has done wonders for Nimmo, and he's sure to keep piling up the runs while hitting in front of sluggers Juan Soto and Pete Alonso.Source: ESPN
New York Mets outfielder Jose Quintana Back in the Win Column
Jose Quintana fired six shutout innings in Saturday's 9-0 win over the Minnesota Twins. The Colombian native allowed three hits and struck out one while issuing four free passes to improve to 5-2 through ten starts. Quintana landed just 52 of 90 pitches for strikes, but was the beneficiary of plenty of soft contact in his longest start since Apr. 22. It was his first win in nearly two months. The veteran sports a strong 2.98 ERA over his first 54 1/3 innings. However, his 1.40 WHIP is more indicative of his performance and underlying metrics (4.63 xFIP). He'll get a favorable matchup in the visiting Colorado Rockies his next time out.Source: ESPN
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Francisco Lindor Breaks Slump with Two Extra-Base Hits
Francisco Lindor went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 11-4 road win against the Philadelphia Phillies. He also doubled to break a 0-for-16 slump at the dish. The fantasy stalwart mashed homer No. 15 off Phillies' starter Mick Abel to lead off the third inning in the first of back-to-back-to-back jacks with Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto following suit. It's worth noting that all three at-bats were six pitches or more. The long ball was Lindor's first in 16 games. He isn't sporting the same expected statistics he did a season ago, but fantasy managers likely won't quibble with his production thus far. The former first-round pick is slashing .267/.340/.463 with 14 doubles, 13 steals, 48 runs scored, and 41 RBI from atop the Mets' lineup.Source: ESPN
New York Mets shortstop Dylan Cease Improves to 3-6
Dylan Cease tossed 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball in his team's 5-1 win against the visiting Kansas City Royals. The veteran yielded three hits, three walks, hit a batter, and struck out four. Cease notched his fourth start this season with one earned run or fewer, and collected his third win and sixth quality start. It was a nice rebound for him after allowing six runs to the Dodgers his last time out. The 29-year-old has pitched to an inflated 4.43 ERA and 1.29 WHIP through 87 1/3 innings (16 starts), but his xERA stands at a far more appealing 3.47. He'll square off against the Cincinnati Reds on the road the next time he toes the slab.Source: ESPN
San Diego Padres starting pitcher Ben Rice Triples, Homers in Win
Ben Rice collected a pair of extra-base hits during a 9-0 drubbing of the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday. Rice smacked a solo home run off Orioles right-hander Zach Eflin in the second inning and drove in his second run of the day on a fifth-inning triple. The 26-year-old finished the game 2-for-5 and is now batting .232/.315/.477 with 13 homers, 28 RBI, and 34 runs in 249 plate appearances. While those are solid numbers, Rice may have more in the tank - he ranks near the top of the league in hard-hit percentage, average exit velocity, xwOBA, xBA, and xSLG, among other categories. Rice is a strong candidate for positive regression if he receives regular playing time, which has been harder to come by since DH Giancarlo Stanton made his season debut this past Monday.Source: ESPN
New York Yankees designated hitter/first baseman Juan Soto Puts on Hitting Clinic in Victory
Juan Soto turned in his best performance of the season in an 11-4 defeat of the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. Soto set season-high marks with four hits and four RBI and walloped two home runs in a 4-for-5 night. The four-time All-Star got off to a slow start in 2025 (by his lofty standards), but he has emphatically turned it around in June with a .338 average (22-for-65), seven homers, 14 RBI, 18 runs, and 20:11 BB:K in 19 games. Thanks largely to his outburst this month, Soto is on track for another huge offensive campaign. He's now hitting .256/.393/.484 with 16 HRs, 41 RBI, 54 runs, and eight steals in 341 plate appearances.Source: ESPN
New York Mets outfielder Elly De La Cruz Crushes 17th Home Run
Elly De La Cruz belted his 17th home run of the season in a 6-5 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday. De La Cruz hit a two-run, 435-foot blast off left-hander Steven Matz and added a single in a 2-for-5 day. This has been a month to remember for De La Cruz, who has hit .313 (20-for-64) with six homers, 12 RBI, 16 runs, four steals, and 13:11 K:BB in 18 games. Overall, the 23-year-old star has slashed .265/.344/.493 with 52 RBI, 59 runs, and 21 steals in 331 trips to the plate. De La Cruz may be in for another productive game Sunday versus Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas. He's 5-for-13 with a double, a triple, and three RBI against the right-hander.Source: ESPN
Cincinnati Reds shortstop Alec Burleson Homers, Drives in Three in Win
Alec Burleson was a key contributor in the team's 6-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. Burleson cracked a two-run homer in the first inning and later chipped in an RBI single in the fifth. He finished the day 2-for-5, extending his hitting streak to nine games. So far in June, Burleson has batted a sizzling .391 (27-for-69) with four homers, 14 RBI, 10 runs, and 7:4 K:BB while taking on an everyday role in the Cardinals' lineup. The club has even been starting the lefty-swinging Burleson against southpaws in recent games. He'll have a tough matchup Sunday with Reds lefty Andrew Abbott scheduled to toe the rubber. Burleson has gone 0-for-6 against Abbott.Source: ESPN
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder/first baseman Pete Crow-Armstrong Homers in Multi-Hit Game
Pete Crow-Armstrong continued his breakout 2025 with a stellar showing against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday. Crow-Armstrong helped the Cubs to a 10-7 win with a 2-for-4 performance that included a solo home run and a double. The first 20/20 player in the majors this season, the 23-year-old is hitting .270/.308/.563 with 21 HRs, 61 RBI, 23 steals, and 56 runs scored in 315 plate appearances. Crow-Armstrong has been a fantasy goldmine, but he'll face a difficult test Sunday with Mariners ace right-hander Logan Gilbert scheduled to get the ball at Wrigley Field.Source: ESPN
Chicago Cubs outfielder Heliot Ramos Goes Yard in Win
Heliot Ramos hit a solo home run to help the club to a 3-2 win over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. Ramos' first-inning blast off right-hander Brayan Bello was his only hit in a 1-for-4 afternoon. After earning an All-Star nod in 2024, Ramos is quietly putting together a terrific follow-up campaign. The 25-year-old is slashing .282/.360/.470 with 13 homers, 39 RBI, 48 runs, and five stolen bases over 328 plate appearances. Ramos looks like a shoo-in for a second straight season of 20-plus HRs and 70-plus RBI. He also has a strong chance to reach double-digit steals for the first time.Source: ESPN
San Francisco Giants outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. Ends 21-Game Home Run Drought
Fernando Tatis Jr. smashed a three-run home run in a 5-1 win over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. With the Padres leading 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Tatis stepped up with two men on and belted a 380-footer off right-hander Taylor Clarke. Tatis also walked during a 1-for-3 night. The homer broke a career-worst drought for Tatis, who hadn't gone deep in 21 games dating to May 27. It was also his first hit since Monday. He entered the game mired in an 0-for-13 skid over his previous four contests. Despite his recent struggles, the two-time All-Star is still having a strong season. Tatis is slashing .268/.357/.461 with 14 HRs, 34 RBI, 56 runs scored, and 15 steals in 325 plate appearances. He'll take on Royals righty Seth Lugo on Sunday.Source: ESPN
San Diego Padres outfielder Jose Berrios Looks Sharp on Saturday
Jose Berrios looked sharp on the mound during Saturday's outing against the Chicago White Sox. Berrios gave up two hits early, but retired the next 14-of-15 batters he faced. The White Sox weren't able to do much against him as he scored one unearned run in the sixth inning. Berrios tossed 7.2 innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits, while walking three batters and striking out five in the win. A nice bounce back outing for Berrios who allowed six runs to the Philadelphia Phillies in his last start. Now, he'll get a tough challenge against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in this next outing.Source: mlb.com
Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Cal Raleigh Hits 30th Homer
Cal Raleigh continued his power hitting ways during Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Surprisingly, Raleigh was held in check until he blasted a solo home run off right-hander Daniel Palencia in the ninth inning. He would finish this game 1-for-5 with a solo homer and one RBI in the loss. Raleigh has now homered three times over his last four games. He is the first player to reach 30 home runs this season, and we aren't even to the All-Star break yet. Raleigh is on pace to put up record setting numbers and we're just along for the ride.Source: mlb.com
Seattle Mariners catcher Ian Happ Homers Twice in Win
Ian Happ remained hot at the plate during Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners. He got the fun started off early with a home run off right-hander Emerson Hancock in the first inning. He wasn't done there as he blasted a three-run shot off Hancock in the second inning. He'd finish his day 2-for-4 with two homers, four RBI, and one walk in the win. Happ has now homered in three straight games as pitchers can't seem to keep him in the ballpark. He's slashing .250/.343/.423 with 11 homers, 38 RBI, and four steals this season. Happ needs to be rostered and started in most fantasy formats right now.Source: mlb.com
Chicago Cubs outfielder Camilo Doval Escapes in Ninth Inning
Camilo Doval was handed the ball with a three-run lead versus the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. Doval struggled early as he allowed three straight hits and two runs. He was able to settle down and retire the next three batters to earn his 12th save of the season. Doval has been lights out over the last few months, so fantasy managers shouldn't be alarmed by this outing. He has pitched in three of the last four games, so fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he is unavailable on Sunday. Doval holds a 2.06 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 33/15 K/BB ratio across 35 innings this season. He should be rostered in most fantasy formats where saves matter.Source: mlb.com
