Ketel Marte is getting a day off on Tuesday with the team facing the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. This will be Marte's first game off of the season after he started in each of the team's first 11 games, going 13-for-46 (.283) with three home runs, seven RBI, a stolen base and 11 runs scored in 53 plate appearances. Marte has gone hitless in his last nine trips to the plate, though. He should be back in the lineup on Wednesday for the series finale in Colorado.
Jace Peterson is starting at second and is batting sixth in the lineup on Tuesday versus Rockies right-hander
Cal Quantrill. Peterson has little DFS upside as a sleeper and is hitless in his only career at-bat against Quantrill.

Ryan Noda was scratched from Tuesday's starting lineup against the Texas Rangers for unknown reasons.
Tyler Nevin is replacing him at first base and will hit seventh against Rangers right-hander
Nathan Eovaldi. If Noda is dealing with an injury, we'll update you. The 28-year-old left-handed-hitting first baseman is off to a slow start for the A's in his second major-league season, going 7-for-33 (.212) with a double, no home runs, only one RBI, three runs scored, five walks and 12 strikeouts in his first 10 games. Nevin is a career .203 hitter with five homers and 29 RBI in 108 games in his major-league career and shouldn't be a popular sleeper consideration for DFS lineups on Tuesday. He's gone hitless in his three career at-bats against Eovaldi.

Jhoan Duran (oblique) is itching to get back out there and said he's hoping to throw his first bullpen session on Friday. Duran was forced to open the 2024 regular season on the injured list with an oblique injury, but he's been throwing pain-free on flat ground and is getting close to throwing off a mound. Once he gets there, the 26-year-old might not need long before he's able to make his season debut for the Twins. Duran should be rostered in all fantasy baseball leagues and stashed in an IL spot in the meantime. The Dominican hurler will be the Twins' unquestioned closer when he's back after posting a 2.15 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP, 35 saves, 41 walks and 173 strikeouts in 130 innings in his first two big-league seasons.

Yoan Moncada (groin) was removed early during Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Moncada has been dealing with a lingering issue since the start of the season. The expectation is that he'll join teammates
Eloy Jimenez and
Luis Robert Jr. on the injured list. The White Sox are likely to have Moncada undergo further testing before making any moves.

Corey Seager (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Fantasy managers don't need to worry as this appears to be a routine rest day for Seager. He's off to an excellent start, batting .368 with one home run and five RBI in nine games.
Josh Smith will cover shortstop versus southpaw
Alex Wood on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should expect Seager to be back in the lineup for their next game.

Noah Schultz will look to build off an impressive first start when he makes his second start of this season this week for High-A Winston Salem. Schultz, 20, was dominant in his first outing and struck out 10 batters to go along with two hits, no runs and no walks over 4 innings. The 20-year-old lefty has been one of the very few bright spots that is employed by the White Sox franchise, but has dealt with a series of injuries since being drafted in 2022. At 6'9, Schultz has a tall frame and a nasty slider to go along with a plus fastball and changeup. He could rise quickly with good health, but his best bet in 2024 is in dynasty leagues.

J.D. Martinez (back) will be shut down for three to five days after receiving a cortisone shot. The veteran slugger is dealing with lower back tightness, so hopefully this shot and rest will help him. Martinez wasn't expected to join the Mets this week, but this news means his season debut will be pushed back further. The Mets should give an update on his timetable in a few days.

Marco Luciano has been off to a hot start for Triple-A Sacramento. The 22-year-old was with the team this spring in the Cactus League, but struggled and was demoted to Triple-A to get more seasoning. He has always had a strong glove, but his hitting has needed to catch up and that hasn't been a problem early on in the season. In his first eight games, Luciano has hit a sparkling .375 with three doubles, four RBI, nine walks and 11 strikeouts. The near 1:1 walk to strikeout ratio is important as Luciano has been prone to doubling his strikeout to walk rate historically. Despite his aggressiveness, Luciano has very good bat speed and can hit for power with double-digit homers in all four of his professional seasons. If Luciano can become a more patient hitter, he has all the tools to help fantasy managers. For now, he is best served in dynasty leagues.

Max Scherzer (back) threw a bullpen session without any issues on Tuesday. The plan is for Scherzer to progress to facing live hitters in a batting practice session next week. The 39-year-old remains without a timetable to return, but the expectation is that Scherzer is back before the start of June. That being said, Scherzer is worth stashing in deeper mixed leagues while he continues to make progress in his recovery from back surgery.

Francisco Alvarez remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Braves. When asked about the situation, Mets manager
Carlos Mendoza said Alvarez is beat up right now. It sounds like the young backstop is dealing with normal bumps and bruises that happen when you're a full-time catcher.
Omar Narvaez will handle the duties behind the plate for at least one more game. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly.

Framber Valdez (elbow) has been placed on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday. This news comes after Valdez was scratched from Monday's start due to left elbow soreness. Astros' manager Joe Espada said the plan is to shut down Valdez for a day or two and then he'll be re-evaluated.
Blair Henley started in place of Valdez on Monday, so possibly he remains in the rotation. Fantasy managers will have to check back for another update.

Davis Wendzel will take the roster spot of Foscue. With Foscue not getting much playing time, one stands to believe that Wendzel will be nothing more than a bench bat and can safely remain on the waiver wire.

Walker Jenkins (hamstring) has been placed on the seven-day injured list with a left-hamstring strain. The news comes after the 2023 first-round pick left Fort Myers' Single-A opening game after making a catch at the wall. Jenkins, 19, is still waiting on a timeframe for when he could resume playing. Last year's fifth overall pick recently recovered from a quad injury, so its tough news for both him and the Twins' organization. Jenkins makes plenty of contact, and his power should continue to come as he progresses through the ranks. He is a name for dynasty fantasy managers to consider, but those in redraft leagues can safely avoid him.

Pete Crow-Armstrong (elbow) is expected to be okay after leaving Sunday's contest with right elbow soreness. PCA missed his second straight game on Tuesday, but it is encouraging that he should not be sideline for long. The defensive specialist and top Cubs prospect is hitting .265 with one homer, four RBI and four stolen bases. Crow-Armstrong already has gold glove caliber defense, but it is his bat that will need to come around for fantasy managers to consider adding him if/when he is promoted for his second big-league stint in 2024.

Willson Contreras (hand) is back in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday, serving as the designated hitter and batting third in the order against right-hander
Zack Wheeler and the Philadelphia Phillies. Contreras is still dealing with soreness in his left hand and will make his first start since being hit by a pitch last Wednesday. The 31-year-old still feels the injury slightly when he swings, so DFS gamers would probably be smart to avoid him in his first game back.
Ivan Herrera is starting at catcher and is batting sixth in St. Louis' lineup. In addition to Contreras not being 100 percent just yet, he's returning to a tough matchup against Wheeler, a pitcher he's hit just .200 against with one RBI in 15 career at-bats.
