1 month agoThe Green Bay Packers re-signed cornerback Robert Rochell to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday, according to general manager Brian Gutekunst. In his first year with Green Bay in 2023, Rochell played in just nine games (zero starts) and recorded four solo tackles. He also suited up for both of the team's playoff games. The 25-year-old was a fourth-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 out of Central Arkansas. He has started only five of the 37 games he's played in so far in three NFL seasons (two with the Rams), totaling 23 tackles (20 solo), an interception and two fumble recoveries. Rochell will return to the Packers in 2024 to provide both secondary and special teams depth.Source: Packers.com
1 month agoThe Baltimore Ravens re-signed cornerback Arthur Maulet to an undisclosed two-year deal on Tuesday. In his first year with the Ravens in 2023, Maulet had 37 tackles (32 solo), a career-high-tying two sacks, five tackles for loss, one interception, five passes defensed and two fumble recoveries in 14 regular-season games (three starts) as the team's nickel cornerback. The 30-year-old entered the league in 2017 with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis. Maulet will return to Baltimore for another two years to give them secondary depth. In his seven NFL seasons, Maulet has tallied 220 tackles (164 solo), five sacks, 17 tackles for loss, eight QB hits, four interceptions, 16 passes defended, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown) in 82 games (23 starts).Source: Baltimore Ravens
1 month agoThe Cleveland Browns re-signed wide receiver/kick returner James Proche II to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday. Proche, a former sixth-round selection by the Baltimore Ravens in 2020 out of SMU, didn't catch any of his five targets in 10 regular-season games (one start) in 2023 in his first year with the Browns. He did, however, return 22 points for 197 yards and one kickoff for a gain of 19 yards last year. The 27-year-old has a grand total of 25 career receptions on 45 targets for 278 yards and no touchdowns in 53 games (one start) in his four NFL seasons, so he's not going to be a factor suddenly on offense for Cleveland in 2024. Proche will, however, give the Browns another option to return kicks on special teams yet again.Source: ClevelandBrowns.com - Kelsey Russo
1 month agoFormer Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (knee) is signing with the New York Jets, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter. The 29-year-old will ink a one-year deal worth up to $15 million. Williams was recently released by the Chargers after seven seasons with the organization. He totaled 309 receptions for 4,806 yards and 31 touchdowns with the Bolts. He'll now join an offense with Aaron Rodgers, Breece Hall, and Garrett Wilson, so assuming he has a successful recovery from a torn ACL suffered in Week 3 of last season, he could be due for spike weeks in 2024 fantasy football. That said, he has struggled to stay on the field over the last two years after a 1,146-yard season in 2021, so fantasy managers should proceed with caution when considering him in drafts this year.Source: Adam Schefter
1 month agoFree-agent offensive tackle Olisaemeka Udoh is signing with the New Orleans Saints, the team announced on X. The former sixth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft has spent his entire five-year career with the Minnesota Vikings and now heads to The Big Easy to play for Dennis Allen. Udoh has 43 games and 18 starts of NFL experience under his belt, but he's likely to be a backup tackle for New Orleans in 2024. He played under new Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak while in Minnesota in 2019 and 2020.Source: New Orleans Saints on X
1 month agoThe Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with cornerback Shaquill Griffin, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert. Griffin spent last season with the Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers, collecting 39 tackles and one sack in 13 games. Overall, the 2018 third-round pick has totaled 366 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, seven interceptions, 64 passes defended, and 10 run stuffs in 89 games with the Seahawks, Jaguars, Texans, and Panthers. The 28-year-old's best days as a player are likely behind him, but he could still be a solid depth player for the rebuilding Vikings in 2024.Source: Kevin Seifert - ESPN
1 month agoThe Cleveland Browns are signing wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to a three-year contract extension worth up to $58 million. The deal includes $41 million guaranteed. The organization sent 2024 fifth and sixth-round picks to acquire Jeudy from the Denver Broncos last week, and they wasted no time offering him a new deal. Jeudy, a former first-round pick in 2020, has hauled in 211 passes for 3,053 yards and 11 touchdowns through his first 57 NFL games. He has failed to reach 900 yards in three of his first four seasons. Cleveland appears to be high on him and his chances to reignite his career with new surroundings. He is slated to start alongside Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore in three-wide sets.Source: Ian Rapoport
1 month agoVeteran free-agent cornerback Tre'Davious White is set to visit with the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It was previously reported that White was visiting with the Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders this week, so there are several teams in the mix for the former All-Pro. White was recently released by the Buffalo Bills after seven seasons with the organization, mostly due to cap space and injury concerns. The 29-year-old has played in just ten games over the last two years, racking up two interceptions and eight passes defended. Nonetheless, teams in desperate need of help in the backend are likely interested in bringing him in on a cheap one-year deal to see if he can turn his career around.Source: Adam Schefter
1 month agoVeteran free-agent center Evan Brown is signing a one-year, $2.9 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The former undrafted free agent out of the class of 2018 has 57 games (40 starts) of NFL experience and started 16 contests at center for the Seattle Seahawks last season. Brown gave up three sacks in 955 snaps in 2023. 1 month agoVeteran free-agent defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day is signing a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, as reported by NFL Network's Jason McCourty. Joseph-Day spent last season with the San Francisco 49ers but only appeared in two games. The former sixth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft has compiled 230 tackles, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception, five passes defended, and 24.5 run stuffs through his first 71 games with the Rams, Chargers, and 49ers. He will likely slot in as the starting nose tackle next to All-Pro defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons.Source: Jason McCourty - NFL Network
1 month agoRecently signed New Orleans Saints edge defender Chase Young (neck) is scheduled to undergo a neck procedure that is expected to sideline him for training camp, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This was announced after he reached a one-year, $13 million deal with New Orleans, but the teams he spoke to apparently knew about it. Nonetheless, the Saints were comfortable with signing him under these conditions. Young, the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has posted 16.5 sacks through his first 43 games with the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers. With Cameron Jordan and Carl Granderson already in the edge rotation, Young has the upside to make this a strong pass-rushing unit in 2024. He is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season.Source: Adam Schefter
1 month agoThe Minnesota Vikings signed free-agent defensive tackle Jonah Williams to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday after he visited with the team on Monday. Williams played with defensive line coach Marcus Dixon when both were with the Los Angeles Rams. The Vikings had signed the 28-year-old in November of 2021 but he failed a physical and ended up winning a Super Bowl ring with the Rams after that. In his first three years in the NFL with the Rams from 2021-23, Williams had a total of 77 tackles (32 solo), 2.5 sacks and eight QB hits in 41 games played (22 starts). He was thrust into a larger role in LA in 2022 due to injuries to Aaron Donald and A'Shawn Robinson and ended up starting a career-high 16 games in 2023. Williams will give Minnesota more defensive-line depth this year.Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Ben Goessling
1 month agoVeteran free-agent defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. is signing an undisclosed one-year deal with the Houston Texans on Tuesday, according to a league source. The 30-year-old is regarded as a strong fit for head coach DeMeco Ryans' 4-3 defensive scheme. Edwards was a former second-round pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2015 out of Florida State. He played for the Seattle Seahawks last year and has also appeared with the Raiders, Bears, Saints, Giants and Titans in his nine NFL seasons. The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder has recorded 156 career tackles (110 solo), 21.5 sacks, 28 tackles for loss, 52 QB hits, six passes defended and four forced fumbles in 114 games (33 starts). Edwards is versatile and can play all along the defensive line and is likely to play a rotational role in Houston in 2024.Source: KPRC 2 Sports - Aaron Wilson
1 month agoThe Miami Dolphins restructured the contract of outside linebacker Bradley Chubb (knee) on Tuesday by converting $13.75 million of his base salary this year into a signing bonus. The move creates an extra $11 million in 2024 salary cap space for the team. In his first full season with the Dolphins in 2023, Chubb started 16 games before tearing his ACL late in the season. Because of the timing of the injury, there's a good chance he won't be ready for the start of the 2024 campaign this fall. In his 16 starts, the 27-year-old former fifth overall pick by the Denver Broncos in 2018 out of North Carolina State had 73 tackles (45 solo), 11 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 22 QB hits, a league-high six forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Because of his knee injury, Chubb's IDP fantasy value will take a hit in 2024.Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates
1 month agoCleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) could begin light throwing as early as Tuesday. Watson's 2023 season ended early and he had surgery on Nov. 21 to fix a displaced fracture in his right shoulder socket. The Browns are going to bring the 28-year-old starter along slowly this offseason, but as long as he doesn't encounter any setbacks, he should be ready for training camp this summer and the start of the 2024 season. Watson has been rehabbing in Los Angeles with quarterbacks coach Quincy Avery and is now ready to start throwing the ball around. The former first-rounder in 2017 out of Clemson by the Texans has now had two straight disappointing seasons in Cleveland after being suspended for all of 2021. He should still be considered a QB1 in fantasy, but his stock is certainly down after playing only 12 games the last two years.Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
