5 days agoIndiana Pacers forward/center Jalen Smith (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's season finale against the Atlanta Hawks due to a left ankle sprain. The Pacers frontcourt could be light as Isaiah Jackson (hamstring) and Obi Toppin (ankle) are also questionable. Smith, on Friday, coming off the bench, posted 11 points, six rebounds, and two steals in 20 minutes on the court versus the Cavs.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoLos Angeles Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel (groin) suffered a testicular contusion during Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox and will not play in Sunday's series finale. Schanuel fouled a ball off himself in the third inning and was removed from Saturday's game during the fourth frame. He went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts before exiting. The 22-year-old is not expected to be placed on the injured list and is considered day-to-day. Miguel Sano replaced Schanuel in Saturday's contest. Sano should see an uptick in at-bats with Schanuel sidelined, but he is hitting 207 (6-for-29) with an RBI over 10 games in 2024. Fantasy managers searching for a first base or corner infield option can look to add Sano in deep-league formats.Source: Jeff Fletcher
5 days agoWashington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (illness) is questionable to play in Sunday's match-up versus the Boston Celtics. The 24-year-old guard missed Friday's contest against the Chicago Bulls because of a non-COVID illness and appears to be in danger of missing the season finale. Poole has been performing at a high level in recent games, including a performance against the Toronto Raptors on April 7, in which he dropped 29 points and dished out 12 assists. If he cannot play, more playing time will likely be given to Jared Butler and Johnny Davis. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Sunday to see if Poole will suit up for the last game of the season.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoWashington Nationals right-hander Kyle Finnegan struck out one over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Oakland A's. Finnegan entered the ninth inning to protect a two-run lead. He needed only nine pitches to retire the side and earn his fifth save of the season. The 32-year-old is 5-for-6 in save chances with a 4.26 ERA, 1.74 WHIP, and six strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in 2024. Hunter Harvey was used in the eighth inning and has racked up five holds in 2024. Finnegan is Washington's primary closer, and his five saves are tied with St. Louis Cardinals reliever Ryan Helsley for the National League lead.Source: MLB
5 days agoWashington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma (ankle) will not suit up for Sunday's contest versus the Boston Celtics. The 28-year-old's absence from the season finale will be his fifth consecutive game on the sidelines because of a right ankle sprain. This will be the end of his season, as the Wizards are far away from the playoff race, with 15 wins. Kuzma had a very good year for fantasy managers, finishing with averages of 22.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoBoston Celtics forward/center Al Horford (rest) will not play in Sunday's season finale against the Washington Wizards. Along with Horford, the Celtics will be resting their five usual starters. Center Luke Kornet and forward Xavier Tillman Sr. could be very busy in the frontcourt, and they are worth considering for DFS contests on Sunday, especially going up against the Wizards, one the worst teams in the National Basketball Association.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoBoston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday (knee) won't play on Sunday against the Wizards. Holiday has been banged up all year. With that in mind, the C's need him as healthy as possible for the playoffs, so he'll sit out on Sunday. The C's also won't have Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White (ankle). As a result, Payton Pritchard, coming off a double-double in Friday's win over the Charlotte Hornets, is a lock for all DFS contests.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoChicago Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon's (back) next start will be the team next week. The Cubs open Monday with a three-game series in Arizona and later start a four-game series on Thursday versus the Miami Marlins. Taillon felt great during his rehab start on Friday night and will meet with the team in Arizona to figure out the next steps. The 32-year-old threw 68 pitches over 3 2/3 innings during Friday's rehab start with Triple-A Iowa. He has been sidelined this season with a back injury. Taillon owned a 4.84 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and a 140:41 K: BB across 154 2/3 innings in 2023. Fantasy managers searching for pitching depth in deep-league formats can look to add Taillon to their rosters.Source: Maddie Lee
5 days agoMiami Heat guard Terry Rozier (neck) is out for Sunday's contest against the Toronto Raptors. He continues to be hampered by neck spasms and will miss his fourth straight game. Expect Caleb Martin and Tyler Herro to run the backcourt, while Delon Wright could play some important minutes. Duncan Robinson (back) is listed as questionable and would likely factor into the rotation if he were to suit up. Rozier will hopefully recover from this ailment and get back on the court soon, as the Heat will need his contributions to try to make another run to the NBA Finals.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoBoston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown won't play on Sunday against the Wizards. The Celtics claimed the No. 1 spot in the Eastern Conference by a mile, so the team can afford to give Brown the afternoon off to rest in preparation for the postseason. With Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White (ankle), and Jrue Holiday (knee) also sitting this one out, Payton Pritchard, coming off an impressive 31-point, 11-assist effort in Friday's win over Charlotte, will be a lock for DFS managers. At the same time, Luke Kornet, Sam Hauser, and Neemias Queta deserve attention.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoMiami Heat guard Duncan Robinson (back) is considered questionable for Sunday's contest against the Toronto Raptors. The sharpshooter sat out the previous three games because of a back injury, and he recently stated he does not have a timetable to return. It is somewhat encouraging that he is listed as questionable for the contest instead of being labeled as out. There is a lot on the line in Sunday's game for the Heat, as they could potentially move up to the sixth seed and avoid the Play-In Tournament, so having Robinson back in their lineup would be beneficial. Fantasy managers should check on his status before tip-off on Sunday.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoBrooklyn Nets center Day'Ron Sharpe (wrist) won't play on Sunday versus the Philadelphia 76ers. He didn't suit up for Friday's loss to the New York Knicks. But his absence against Philly means his year is over. However, Sharpe had the best season of his career, averaging 6.8 points and 6.4 boards. The 22-year-old could see more work in the middle for the Nets in 2024-25, depending on what the future holds for Nicolas Claxton. Yet, as far as the regular-season finale is concerned, Claxton could see significantly fewer minutes than usual, meaning Noah Clowney, Jalen Wilson, and Trendon Watford are worth considering for DFS contests.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoChicago Cubs left-hander Justin Steele (hamstring) will throw a bullpen session on Saturday. According to Cubs manager Craig Counsell, Steele still has ways to go here but is progressing. The 28-year-old will throw for the first time since suffering a Grade 1 hamstring strain on Opening Day. Barring any setbacks, Steele is on track to return in May. Ben Brown replaced Steele in the rotation and boasts a 6.10 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and an 11:4 K: BB across 10 1/3 innings this season. Fantasy managers can add Brown in deep-league or NL-Only league formats.Source: Maddie Lee
5 days agoBoston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (rest) will not play against the Washington Wizards on Sunday. The team will have the 26-year-old rest with the playoffs coming up. Boston will have all of its top six guys out, meaning many open minutes for the rest of the crew. Sam Hauser and Oshae Brissett will be the players benefiting from Tatum's absence.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoToronto Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley (adductor) will not play in Sunday's contest versus the Miami Heat. He will be sidelined during the final regular season game because of a left adductor strain. With Toronto's season coming to a close, they will turn their attention to building a better roster for next season, which Quickley will likely be a major part of. The 24-year-old guard was traded from the New York Knicks to the Raptors in the middle of the season, and his production boomed. He shined as a starter, averaging more than 18 points and dishing out over six assists per game.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoBrooklyn Nets guard Dennis Smith Jr. (hip) won't play in Sunday's contest against the 76ers. He's missed plenty of time throughout the 2023-24 campaign because of a hip issue, so his absence for the regular-season finale doesn't surprise anyone. But by all accounts, the 2017 No. 9 overall pick had a decent season, averaging 6.6 points, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals. Dennis Schroder (Achilles) also won't play, meaning Jacob Gilyard could get the start. However, he struggled in Friday's loss to the Knicks, which won't increase his DFS stock on Sunday.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (side) is dealing with a mild right intercostal strain. The Twins initially listed Correa's injury as a right oblique strain, but the team changed its diagnosis after he underwent additional imaging. The timeline for Correa will be announced next week. Correa is eligible to come off the injured list on April 22. Willi Castro started at shortstop for Correa in both games of Saturday's doubleheader and should see an uptick in playing time. Castro went for 2-for-8 with a double, two-run homer, a walk, and three runs scored over both games on Saturday. Fantasy managers searching for speed can look to add Castro to most leagues after he stole 34 bases in 2023.Source: Do-Hyoung Park
5 days agoBoston Celtics forward/center Kristaps Porzingis (rest) will miss Sunday's season finale against the Washington Wizards. The Celtics are resting several key players to keep them fresh for the playoffs, which are just around the corner. Xavier Tillman Sr. and Luke Kornet could capitalize on the absence of key frontcourt players. With the stage set for them to perform well, they have a prime opportunity to excel against Washington, one of the worst teams in the NBA.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoBrooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schroder (Achilles) won't play on Sunday versus the 76ers. The journeyman has played well since his trade to Brooklyn ahead of the deadline, averaging 14.6 points and 6.0 assists while shooting a career-high 41.2% from behind the arc. Schroder wants to remain a Net, so this may not be his final game with the team. But with Dennis Smith Jr. (hip) also sidelined for the regular season-finale, Jacob Gilyard may draw another start. However, Lonnie Walker IV, who had 15 points in Friday's loss to the New York Knicks, should be the guy to target for DFS purposes.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoBrooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson (toe) won't play on Sunday against Philadelphia. The Nets have one game left on their schedule before calling it a year. However, Johnson won't be on the floor to close out the 2023-24 campaign, which isn't surprising to anyone. Along with Johnson, the Nets won't have Dorian Finney-Smith (knee) and Day'Ron Sharpe (wrist) near the basket. As a result, Noah Clowney, Jalen Wilson, and Trendon Watford could remain heavily involved, especially since Nicolas Claxton might see fewer minutes than usual throughout a meaningless contest for Brooklyn.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoCleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland (back) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's final regular season game against the Charlotte Hornets. He is dealing with a low back contusion, and the Cavaliers will likely take the cautious approach and let him rest. Both Donovan Mitchell (knee) and Caris LeVert (knee) will be sidelined in this game, as Cleveland is making sure their backcourt is healthy for the playoffs. Garland is a critical piece of the rotation, and he will need to play at a high level if the Cavaliers wish to make a deep postseason run this year.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoAccording to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb have yet to have "substantial talks" regarding a new contract. The wideout is slotted to make nearly $18 million on his fifth-year option. Training camp will be here soon, meaning a holdout could be on the horizon if a new deal isn't done. In the meantime, there's also a chance Lamb won't participate in any of the Cowboys' team activities in the next couple of months. With that said, the 25-year-old is a proven pass-catcher. He had a fantastic season in 2023-24, finishing with 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns off 135 catches, all career-highs. Although Lamb is expected to remain a first-round fantasy option, that may change if an agreement isn't reached shortly, especially if it means Lamb might miss a few games to begin the year.Source: Calvin Watkins
5 days agoBoston Celtics guard Derrick White (ankle) is out for Sunday's season finale with the Washington Wizards. Fantasy managers should expect the 29-year-old to be available for the playoffs. The entire Celtics starting five is unavailable, plus Al Horford (toe) has been ruled out. Payton Pritchard will run the backcourt for now, while Jaden Springer and Svi Mykhailiuk will see more time on the court.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoCleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (knee) will not play in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Charlotte Hornets. He is listed as out because of left knee injury management. The Cavaliers are playing it safe with their star guard and are turning their attention toward the playoffs. Caris LeVert (knee) will also be sidelined, while Darius Garland (back) is listed as doubtful. Mitchell closes the 2023-2024 regular season with averages of 26.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists. He is expected to lead the Cleveland when the postseason begins, and if they plan to advance through multiple rounds of the Eastern Conference, they will need him to perform at his best.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoCleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Caris LeVert (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. He will sit out this contest because of left knee soreness. With the playoffs approaching, Cleveland is prioritizing their team's health. Donovan Mitchell (knee) will also be sidelined, while Darius Garland (back) is considered doubtful, so it remains to be seen who will lead the backcourt in the regular season finale. Once the playoffs begin, LeVert will be relied upon as a crucial piece of the Cavaliers' rotation and will need to play well if they hope to make a deep postseason run.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoSan Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Detroit Pistons due to right ankle injury management. As the Spurs sit near the bottom of the Western Conference standings, they will let their young superstar rest. The prized rookie will end his season on a high note after collecting 34 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists in a thrilling victory over the defending champion Denver Nuggets on Friday. Wembanyama is the heavy favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award after a sensational first NBA season. Zach Collins (thumb) is questionable to play, and if he ends up sitting out, too, Sandro Mamukelashvili will likely see as many minutes as he can handle in the season finale.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoMemphis Grizzlies guard Luke Kennard (knee) is out for Sunday's season finale against the Denver Nuggets. This will be his sixth straight game on the sidelines because of a left knee injury. The Grizzlies have been ravaged by injuries all season long, and they will continue to rely on a group of young players for their final game of the season. Fantasy managers can expect GG Jackson II, Jake LaRavia, and Scotty Pippen Jr. to lead the backcourt.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoLos Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (knee) is set to miss the final regular season game against the Houston Rockets on Sunday. This will be the eighth consecutive game he will be sidelined because of right knee inflammation. The injury concerns continue for Leonard, and it is a mystery if he will be able to play in the first round of the playoffs. The Clippers clinched the fourth seed in the Western Conference and have nothing to play for in Sunday's contest, so they very well could rest other players or limit the minutes of their starters. P.J. Tucker, Amir Coffey, and Brandon Boston Jr. are all potential options to see a heavier workload as the regular season comes to an end.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Garrett Crochet suffered his second loss of the season on Saturday, giving up five runs on four hits in 4 2/3 innings against the Cincinnati Reds. Not all was bad as Crochet was able to notch 10 strikeouts in the performance, but a horrible second inning was enough to do damage to the lefty's box score. Though this was Crochet's second loss on the season, it was just his first truly subpar start this season and the only one where he's given up more than two earned runs. The lefty will look to bounce back later in the week as the White Sox look to decide whether he'll start on Wednesday vs the Kansas City Royals or Friday vs the Philadelphia Phillies.Source: MLB.com
5 days agoMemphis Grizzlies guard Vince Williams Jr. (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale with the Nuggets. Williams Jr. will miss his 17th consecutive game with tendonitis in his left patellar tendon. Scotty Pippen Jr. and Jordan Goodwin could be solid DFS options and will see many extra minutes with most of the Grizzlies roster sitting out Sunday.Source: NBA Injury Report
