Sauce Gardner Agrees to $120.4 Million Contract Extension

The New York Jets are signing All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner to a four-year, $120.4 million contract extension, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The new deal that includes a $30.1 million average salary makes the 24-year-old the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history. Since being selected with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Cincinnati, Gardner has earned two first-team All-Pro honors and been selected to two Pro Bowls. In 48 career games, he has tallied 181 tackles (128 solo), three interceptions, 41 pass deflections, one sack, and one forced fumble. The team recently reached an agreement on a contract extension for wideout Marvin Mims Jr. Could be on Track for First 1,000-Yard Season
Marvin Mims Jr. could be poised for his first 1,000-yard season in 2025 with another year of chemistry with second-year quarterback Bo Nix. Mims was selected in the second round (63rd overall) in 2023 out of Oklahoma, and he's already been a Pro Bowl returner on special teams twice. However, the 23-year-old's progress as a pass-catcher could unlock another element in the Broncos' offense. He showcased his ability to win on contested deep balls -- no example greater than his amazing Week 17 touchdown grab against the Cincinnati Bengals to force overtime. Mims had 434 receiving yards and six touchdowns in his final seven games in 2024 and is probably the favorite for WR2 duties behind Courtland Sutton. For his big-play abilities alone, Mims is worth a bench stash as a WR5/6.Source: The Athletic - Nick Kosmider
The Athletic's Nick Kosmider suggests that Denver Broncos wide receiver Chargers Place Jaylen Johnson on PUP List
Mike Williams, the Los Angeles Chargers placed receiver Jaylen Johnson (undisclosed), safety Elijah Molden (knee), linebacker Del'Shawn Phillips (undisclosed) and offensive tackle Savion Washington (undisclosed) on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Monday for the start of training camp. The Chargers can activate Johnson at any time during training camp this summer, but if he remains on PUP to start the regular season, he'll have to miss the first four games. The 25-year-old will be competing for a depth role in L.A. whenever he gets back on the field behind Williams, Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, rookies Tre Harris and Keandre Lambert-Smith and Derius Davis. Johnson didn't see any targets in his rookie season in 2024 and is nowhere near the fantasy radar.Source: The Athletic - Daniel Popper
In addition to wide receiver Dereck Lively II Undergoes Right-Foot Surgery Tuesday
Dereck Lively II (foot) underwent surgery to remove bone spurs in his right foot. Despite the offseason setback, Lively is expected to be healthy for training camp. During his second NBA season, the 21-year-old averaged 8.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 blocks across 23.1 minutes. He was limited to just 36 games due to an ankle issue. Once healthy, Lively will be inserted into a crowded Mavs frontcourt that includes Daniel Gafford and Anthony Davis, who will both see minutes at center.Source: Shams Charania
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Dallas Mavericks center Kendrick Bourne, Kayshon Boutte Fighting for Final Spots
There are as many as five wide receivers battling for one or two roster spots this summer with the New England Patriots, includingIsaiah Collier Logs a Double-Double in Summer League Action on Monday
Isaiah Collier collected 12 points, 12 assists, three rebounds and one block across 33 minutes in a 93-91 Summer League loss to the Spurs on Monday. Despite a solid outing, Collier has struggled with his jump shot, shooting 38.3 percent from the field across six Summer League outings. The 29th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft will look to battle for an expanded role on a young Jazz team after averaging 8.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists across 71 games last season.Source: ESPN

Chiefs, Trey Smith Finalizing Massive Extension
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
The Kansas City Chiefs and franchise-tagged offensive guard Trey Smith are finalizing a massive new contract extension on Tuesday that will make him the highest-paid guard in the league, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The four-year deal worth $94 million deal will be done by agents Tory Dandy and Jimmy Sexton. The deal includes $70 million guaranteed. Smith would have been the highest-paid guard in the NFL if he had played on the one-year, $23.4 million franchise tag in 2025, too. The 26-year-old was taken in the sixth round (226th overall) in 2021 out of Tennessee but has become one of the best guards in the league and was named a first-time Pro Bowler in 2024. Smith has started 67 of a possible 68 regular-season games since joining KC, including all 13 of their playoff games since 2021. He's now locked in with the Chiefs for the foreseeable future.Colts Expected to Ease Anthony Richardson Sr. Back in
Anthony Richardson Sr. (shoulder) back "at some point" during training camp this summer, and "when he does come back, we'll ease him into throwing and then we'll go from there." Richardson did not require another surgery on his troublesome right shoulder, but he will enter training camp behind Daniel Jones for the open competition under center in 2025. Richardson and Jones were set to split reps evenly during OTAs and minicamp, but Richardson's shoulder injury caused him to miss all of minicamp. "It's really going to come down to who's the most consistent," Steichen said. First and foremost, Richardson is going to need to prove he can stay healthy. The former first-rounder has elite rushing upside, but his health and accuracy are major questions, and he still might need to outplay Jones to win the starting gig back.Source: Colts.com - JJ Stankevitz
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said he expects quarterback Devin Carter Posts 17 Points Versus Suns
Devin Carter scored 17 points (7-for-12 on field goals, 3-for-5 from three-point land, 0-for-2 on free throws), three assists, three steals, two rebounds and one block in 21 minutes during Monday's 94-76 Summer League win over the Suns. The 2024 first-round pick is hoping to make his mark in Sacramento after his rookie campaign was limited due to a shoulder injury that required surgery. When Carter was available, the 23-year-old averaged 3.8 points across 11.0 minutes per game in 36 regular-season appearances.Source: ESPN
Sacramento Kings guard Ryan Mountcastle to Start Rehab Assignment on July 22
Ryan Mountcastle (hamstring) is scheduled to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on July 22, according to MLB.com. Mountcastle was diagnosed with a Grade 2 right-hamstring strain and was moved to the 60-day injured list on June 23. Barring a setback on his rehab assignment, he could be activated on July 30 or shortly thereafter. The 28-year-old right-handed hitter has been out since the end of May but should return to regular duties at first base in Baltimore when he's ready. In the meantime, expect Ryan O'Hearn and Coby Mayo to continue splitting time at the cold corner for the O's coming out of this week's All-Star break. Mountcastle had been a disappointment for fantasy managers before his hamstring injury, slashing .246/.280/.348 with a weak .628 OPS, only two homers, 15 RBI and 19 runs in 187 at-bats.Source: MLB.com

Bronny James Jr. Scores 17 Points in Summer League Loss
Bronny James Jr. collected 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists across 24 minutes in a 67-58 Summer League loss to the Clippers on Monday. James knocked down 6-of-10 field goal attempts and shot 3-for-6 from three-point land, leading the Lakers in scoring. In the last two games, the 20-year-old is shooting 52.4 percent from the field. Last season, James averaged 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists across 6.7 minutes per game in 27 contests. If he continues to impress the Lakers' coaching staff, he could possibly see an expanded role during the 2025-26 campaign.Source: ESPN
Los Angeles Lakers guard David Robertson Could Land With a Team Soon
David Robertson is throwing for interested clubs this week, according to The Athletic's Will Sammon. Robertson has been a free agent since the end of last season, but he could land with a team looking for help in the bullpen soon. Several teams, including the New York Mets and New York Yankees, have looked into Robertson, according to league sources. Robertson turned 40 in April, but he had a 3.00 ERA with 99 strikeouts and 27 walks with the Texas Rangers in 2024. From 2022-24, he averaged 63 appearances per year with a 2.82 ERA. The former 17th-round pick by the Yankees in 2006 out of Alabama has 177 career saves in 16 MLB seasons and has also pitched for the Marlins, Phillies, Cubs, White Sox, Rays and Rangers. Because of his wealth of experience in high-leverage roles, it's not out of the question for Robertson to become fantasy relevant in the second half.Source: The Athletic - Will Sammon
Veteran right-handed reliever Terry McLaurin Undecided on Whether he Will Report to Training Camp
Terry McLaurin said he hasn't decided if he will report to training camp next week, and he's taking things day by day, according to NBC Sports' JP Finlay. McLaurin has skipped all of the team's offseason workouts so far and could continue that into training camp as he seeks a long-term contract extension. The 29-year-old is heading into the final year of a three-year, $68.2 million extension he signed in 2022 and is seeking more after posting his fifth straight 1,000-yard season in 2024. The two-time Pro Bowler caught 82 of his 117 targets for 1,096 yards and a career-best 13 touchdowns in 17 regular-season starts. McLaurin's arrow is pointing up with quarterback Jayden Daniels looking like the real deal, although fantasy managers will want to expect touchdown regression. He's a firm WR2 target in fantasy, but a lengthy holdout this summer won't boost his fantasy appeal.Source: NBC Sports Washington - JP Finlay
Washington Commanders wide receiver Colston Loveland Says his Shoulder is 100 Percent
Colston Loveland (shoulder) says that his surgically-repaired shoulder is 100 percent, according to NBC Sports' Mike Berman. However, when asked if he'll be out on the field when training camp begins this month, Loveland said it's to be determined. Despite having surgery on his shoulder back in January, the Bears took the 21-year-old 10th overall in April's NFL draft. Loveland has high-end passing catching potential, but he also missed all of the team's offseason workouts and appears unlikely to be full-go for the start of camp in July. The Bears will most likely play it safe with their first-rounder, especially since they still have Cole Kmet at the position. Loveland is a great dynasty/keeper target, but fantasy managers in redraft leagues may want to temper expectations for the Michigan product. RotoBaller has Loveland ranked as the No. 15 TE.Source: NBC Sports Chicago - Mike Berman
Chicago Bears rookie first-round tight end Harrison Ingram has Impressive Outing Against Jazz
Harrison Ingram finished with 15 points (4-for-9 on field goals, 3-for-6 from three-point land, 4-for-4 on free throws), 14 rebounds, and six assists across 32 minutes in Monday's 93-91 Summer League win over the Utah Jazz. Ingram led the Spurs in points and rebounds during Monday's contest. He has a two-way contract after seeing action in five regular-season Spurs contests during the 2024-25 campaign. Despite showing improvements in the Summer League, the 22-year-old will likely once again spend most of the season in the G League in 2025-26.Source: ESPN
San Antonio Spurs forward Sam Williams has Potential to be Elite Edge Rusher
Source: The Athletic - Jon Machota
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams (knee) has the size and athletic ability to become an elite edge rusher, in the opinion of The Athletic's Jon Machota. Williams suffered a season-ending torn ACL and MCL in training camp last summer that caused him to miss the entire year. However, he was able to take part in individual drills during minicamp, and Machota believes that he could be the team's second-most productive pass-rusher in 2025 behind Micah Parsons. The 26-year-old was taken 56th overall in the second round in the 2022 NFL draft and recorded 48 tackles (30 solo), 8.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 16 QB hits, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 32 games (zero starts) in his first two years in the league. If he can stay healthy, Williams could be a key player in Dallas' pass rush.Shemar Stewart Considering Going Back to College?
Source: CBS Sports - Bud Elliot
According to CBS Sports' Bud Elliot, Cincinnati Bengals first-round rookie pass-rusher Shemar Stewart has been taking part in workouts with Texas A&M, his former college team, and could be considering returning to college in 2025 after being taken by the Bengals with the No. 17 overall pick in April. The 21-year-old has been holding out over default language the Bengals want him to sign as part of his rookie deal that would void all guarantees in his contract. Cincinnati is known for playing hardball with their players, so this isn't really anything new. If Stewart were to return to play for the Aggies this fall, the Bengals wouldn't receive any compensation for losing him, and Stewart would then be allowed to re-enter next year's NFL draft. It's unclear if a resolution is coming soon in this bizarre saga between Stewart and the Bengals.Lions Want Jahmyr Gibbs "More Involved" in Passing Game

Jordan Addison Could be Facing Three-Game Suspension
Jordan Addison could be facing a baseline three-game suspension this year, per NFL policy, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Addison has pleaded not guilty. Even if the 23-year-old isn't convicted in court, the NFL could still suspend him to begin the 2025 season. The 23-year-old former first-rounder in 2023 out of USC took a slight step back in his second season last year with a 63-875-9 line on 99 targets in 15 regular-season starts. Addison is still a very dangerous No. 2 wideout behind All-Pro Justin Jefferson in Minnesota, but the potential for a suspension is hanging over his head this year. Fantasy managers also have to wonder if he'll be as efficient with quarterback J.J. McCarthy running the offense. Addison is a low-end WR3/high-end WR4 target in fantasy.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Jesus Tinoco Nearing Mound Work
Jesus Tinoco (forearm) is continuing a throwing program he started on June 16 and is "close to getting back on the mound," according to MLB.com. The 30-year-old right-hander was placed on the 15-day IL with a right forearm strain in early June. Before the injury, Tinoco had worked 19 1/3 innings with a 5.12 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 10 strikeouts, and four saves. His 3.26 xERA was significantly lower than his actual number, but his putrid 12.5% strikeout rate was also much worse than the 25.9% K rate he posted in 2024. He could get back in the mix for saves in the Marlins bullpen upon his return. Miami has opted for a committee approach led by breakout right-hander Ronny Henriquez in his absence.Source: MLB.com
Miami Marlins reliever Foster Griffin Is on Teams' Radar After Strong Work in Japan
Foster Griffin hasn't pitched in the majors since 2022, but he could be one of the most under-the-radar free agents this coming offseason. He split time in 2022 between the Royals and Blue Jays before joining the Yomiuri Giants in the Nippon Professional League. This year, he has posted a 0.75 ERA with 72 strikeouts in 12 games (11 starts). He is 6-0 with a 1.39 FIP and 0.86 WHIP in his 72 innings. Griffin reportedly switched up his arsenal this year, catching the eye of several MLB teams with his strong start to the season, according to Fansided's Robert Murray. Griffin will be a name to watch this offseason as teams look to fortify their rotations, and he could be very productive, despite his non-traditional path through Japan.Source: Robert Murray
Left-handed pitcher Yankees Targeting Eugenio Suarez
Eugenio Suarez of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Suarez is slashing .250/.320/.569 and leads the NL with 78 RBI. He has crushed 31 home runs this year for Arizona, but his team is still just 47-50 at the break, sitting 11 games behind the Dodgers in the NL West and 5.5 games out of a wild-card spot. With so many injuries to their pitching staff, the D-backs are expected to be sellers at the deadline, and Suarez should be one of the best bats on the market. Heyman also mentions Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes and Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon as other potential fits if a deal for Suarez can't be struck.Source: Jon Heyman
According to Jon Heyman, the Yankees are looking to fix their issues at third base with an obvious but effective option -- third baseman Red Sox Targeting Charlie Morton?
Charlie Morton as a trade-deadline target, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic and Fox Sports. The 41-year-old Morton's season-long numbers are unimpressive, as he's posted a 5.18 ERA and 1.52 WHIP with 88 strikeouts in 83 1/3 innings (14 starts). However, Morton has turned it on of late. Across seven starts in June and July, Morton is 4-0 with a 2.72 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 43 strikeouts in 36 1/3 innings. The veteran gives up a significant amount of hard contact on the ground, which has led to an elevated .331 BABIP and will continue to impact his WHIP. However, he still racks up strikeouts and could be in line for more win chances if moved to Boston or any other contender.Source: Fox Sports - Ken Rosenthal
The Boston Red Sox may be circling Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Chris Gotterup Punches Ticket to Royal Portrush With Win at Scottish Open
Source: Data Golf
It was impressive to watch Chris Gotterup perform under the pressure of having arguably the game's second-best player staring at him for 18 holes during the final round of the Scottish Open. The 25-year-old shot a -4 under par, 66 in the final round to win by two strokes. Often marveled for his length off the tee, Gotterup got things done with a red-hot putter, averaging +1.87 strokes gained on the greens at The Renaissance Club. His +1.22 strokes gained off the tee is something he's been able to do all season, which makes links golf a decent fit for him. Aside from the exhaustion of going toe-to-toe with Rory McIlroy, this week's Open Championship presents another decent opportunity to produce another high finish. It would be wise to check ownership levels, though, before officially adding him to lineups.Daulton Varsho Off-Schedule on Rehab Assignment?

Bryson DeChambeau Hopes to Reverse Links Golf Struggle at the 153rd Open
Source: Data Golf
It doesn't take too much digging through various data resources to figure out that Bryson DeChambeau has not performed well in his seven previous appearances in the Open Championship, aside from a T8 in 2022. The putting and approach play haven't been there, and unfortunately, the putting has taken a downturn over the last several weeks on LIV despite the dominance of his Crushers team. Wind and rain are slated to be factors, making the former SMU product a scary way to lean. If there is one major that hasn't been stamped with the 31-year-old's mark in recent memory, it's certainly this one, and another missed cut seems more probable than vying for the Claret Jug come Sunday.Adolis Garcia Drawing Trade Interest
Adolis Garcia has been asked about in trade conversations by "several teams," according to Francys Romero. The 32-year-old Garcia is under team control through 2026, so he'd be more than just a trade deadline rental for a contending team. In 373 plate appearances this season, Garcia is slashing .232/.279/.404 with 13 home runs, 56 RBI, 34 runs, and nine stolen bases. However, his 24.7% strikeout rate is the best of his career, and both his .253 xBA and .479 xSLG point to possible second-half improvement. Garcia is still a decent power/speed option in fantasy, and a move to a stronger offense at the trade deadline could help his counting stats, particularly runs scored.Source: Francys Romero
