1 week agoThe Cleveland Browns are signing wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to a three-year contract extension worth up to $58 million. The deal includes $41 million guaranteed. The organization sent 2024 fifth and sixth-round picks to acquire Jeudy from the Denver Broncos last week, and they wasted no time offering him a new deal. Jeudy, a former first-round pick in 2020, has hauled in 211 passes for 3,053 yards and 11 touchdowns through his first 57 NFL games. He has failed to reach 900 yards in three of his first four seasons. Cleveland appears to be high on him and his chances to reignite his career with new surroundings. He is slated to start alongside Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore in three-wide sets.Source: Ian Rapoport
1 week agoVeteran free-agent cornerback Tre'Davious White is set to visit with the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It was previously reported that White was visiting with the Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders this week, so there are several teams in the mix for the former All-Pro. White was recently released by the Buffalo Bills after seven seasons with the organization, mostly due to cap space and injury concerns. The 29-year-old has played in just ten games over the last two years, racking up two interceptions and eight passes defended. Nonetheless, teams in desperate need of help in the backend are likely interested in bringing him in on a cheap one-year deal to see if he can turn his career around.Source: Adam Schefter
1 week agoVeteran free-agent center Evan Brown is signing a one-year, $2.9 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The former undrafted free agent out of the class of 2018 has 57 games (40 starts) of NFL experience and started 16 contests at center for the Seattle Seahawks last season. Brown gave up three sacks in 955 snaps in 2023. He figures to compete with Hjalte Froholdt for the starting center job in quarterback Kyler Murray's offense to begin the 2024 campaign.Source: Tom Pelissero
1 week agoVeteran free-agent defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day is signing a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, as reported by NFL Network's Jason McCourty. Joseph-Day spent last season with the San Francisco 49ers but only appeared in two games. The former sixth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft has compiled 230 tackles, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception, five passes defended, and 24.5 run stuffs through his first 71 games with the Rams, Chargers, and 49ers. He will likely slot in as the starting nose tackle next to All-Pro defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons.Source: Jason McCourty - NFL Network
1 week agoRecently signed New Orleans Saints edge defender Chase Young (neck) is scheduled to undergo a neck procedure that is expected to sideline him for training camp, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This was announced after he reached a one-year, $13 million deal with New Orleans, but the teams he spoke to apparently knew about it. Nonetheless, the Saints were comfortable with signing him under these conditions. Young, the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has posted 16.5 sacks through his first 43 games with the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers. With Cameron Jordan and Carl Granderson already in the edge rotation, Young has the upside to make this a strong pass-rushing unit in 2024. He is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season.Source: Adam Schefter
1 week agoThe Minnesota Vikings signed free-agent defensive tackle Jonah Williams to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday after he visited with the team on Monday. Williams played with defensive line coach Marcus Dixon when both were with the Los Angeles Rams. The Vikings had signed the 28-year-old in November of 2021 but he failed a physical and ended up winning a Super Bowl ring with the Rams after that. In his first three years in the NFL with the Rams from 2021-23, Williams had a total of 77 tackles (32 solo), 2.5 sacks and eight QB hits in 41 games played (22 starts). He was thrust into a larger role in LA in 2022 due to injuries to Aaron Donald and A'Shawn Robinson and ended up starting a career-high 16 games in 2023. Williams will give Minnesota more defensive-line depth this year.Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Ben Goessling
1 week agoVeteran free-agent defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. is signing an undisclosed one-year deal with the Houston Texans on Tuesday, according to a league source. The 30-year-old is regarded as a strong fit for head coach DeMeco Ryans' 4-3 defensive scheme. Edwards was a former second-round pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2015 out of Florida State. He played for the Seattle Seahawks last year and has also appeared with the Raiders, Bears, Saints, Giants and Titans in his nine NFL seasons. The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder has recorded 156 career tackles (110 solo), 21.5 sacks, 28 tackles for loss, 52 QB hits, six passes defended and four forced fumbles in 114 games (33 starts). Edwards is versatile and can play all along the defensive line and is likely to play a rotational role in Houston in 2024.Source: KPRC 2 Sports - Aaron Wilson
1 week agoThe Miami Dolphins restructured the contract of outside linebacker Bradley Chubb (knee) on Tuesday by converting $13.75 million of his base salary this year into a signing bonus. The move creates an extra $11 million in 2024 salary cap space for the team. In his first full season with the Dolphins in 2023, Chubb started 16 games before tearing his ACL late in the season. Because of the timing of the injury, there's a good chance he won't be ready for the start of the 2024 campaign this fall. In his 16 starts, the 27-year-old former fifth overall pick by the Denver Broncos in 2018 out of North Carolina State had 73 tackles (45 solo), 11 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 22 QB hits, a league-high six forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Because of his knee injury, Chubb's IDP fantasy value will take a hit in 2024.Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates
1 week agoCleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) could begin light throwing as early as Tuesday. Watson's 2023 season ended early and he had surgery on Nov. 21 to fix a displaced fracture in his right shoulder socket. The Browns are going to bring the 28-year-old starter along slowly this offseason, but as long as he doesn't encounter any setbacks, he should be ready for training camp this summer and the start of the 2024 season. Watson has been rehabbing in Los Angeles with quarterbacks coach Quincy Avery and is now ready to start throwing the ball around. The former first-rounder in 2017 out of Clemson by the Texans has now had two straight disappointing seasons in Cleveland after being suspended for all of 2021. He should still be considered a QB1 in fantasy, but his stock is certainly down after playing only 12 games the last two years.Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
1 week agoThe Cincinnati Bengals are planning to sign New England Patriots free-agent offensive tackle Trent Brown to an undisclosed one-year deal after visiting with him on Tuesday, according to a source. Brown, who spent the last three seasons in New England, will help the Bengals replace Jonah Williams after he signed in free agency with the Arizona Cardinals. The 30-year-old Brown will be expected to start at tackle across from Orlando Brown as he now protects quarterback Joe Burrow. The 6-foot-8, 370-pounder was originally a seventh-round selection by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015 out of Florida. Brown spent the first three seasons of his NFL career in the Bay Area before playing for the Patriots in 2018 and then the Raiders in 2019-20. He has started 93 of the 100 games he's appeared in over his nine-year career.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
1 week agoWith both quarterbacks Mac Jones and Justin Fields being traded this offseason for essentially pennies on the dollar, the New York Jets' prospects of trading former first-rounder Zach Wilson are looking bleak. Both Jones and Fields have shown more promise in their careers than Wilson at this point. The 24-year-old has thrown 25 interceptions and 23 touchdowns while completing only 57% of his passes in three seasons. He's also had off-the-field incidents that don't portray him favorably as a teammate. The Jets have been ready to move on from Wilson for a while, but now it looks unlikely that they can fetch a Day 3 pick for him. There have been no reports of interest around the league in Wilson since the Jets allowed his agent to seek a trade, although the Ravens, Broncos and Chiefs could look to upgrade their current backup options.Source: New York Post - Brian Costello
1 week agoFormer Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl offensive guard Kevin Zeitler plans to sign an undisclosed one-year deal with the Detroit Lions, according to a source. Zeitler is flying to Detroit on Monday night to take a physical, with the plan to formally sign on Tuesday. The 34-year-old former 27th overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2012 out of Wisconsin has been one of the most underrated offensive linemen in the league in the last 12 years. He could serve as a short-term replacement for Jonah Jackson, who signed with the Los Angeles Rams as a free agent. Zeitler played in 15 regular-season games and battled through knee and quad injuries last year but still managed a 93.8% pass-block win rate (10th among guards) while allowing only six sacks. He also had a 61.8% run-block win rate (25th among guards). Zeitler is known for his durability and has played in 182 games (181 starts) in the regular season since 2012.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
1 week agoFree-agent offensive tackle Trent Brown is scheduled to meet with the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday. The Bengals lost tackle Jonah Williams in free agency to the Arizona Cardinals and are looking for a replacement, with Brown being a potential fit. The 30-year-old's contract with the New England Patriots voided in February when he was not able to reach an extension with the organization after playing the last three seasons with them. The former seventh-round selection by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015 has started 93 of the 100 career games he's appeared in over his nine NFL seasons. He was a Pro Bowler for the first time in 2019 with the Las Vegas Raiders. In his three seasons with the Pats, Brown started 33 of the 37 games he appeared in.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
1 week agoVeteran free-agent defensive end Mario Edwards (knee) visited with the Houston Texans on Monday, according to a league source. Edwards missed the last game of the year in 2023 while playing for the Seattle Seahawks, but he should be good to go this fall for the start of the 2024 season. The 30-year-old former second-round pick of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2015 out of Florida State had 21 tackles (15 solo), two sacks, five tackles for loss, six QB hits and a forced fumble in 15 games (one start) in his first season with Seattle last year. Edwards' best days are behind him, so he's not going to be on the fantasy radar in IDP leagues. In his nine years in the NFL, he has a total of 21.5 sacks, 156 tackles (110 solo), 28 tackles for loss, 52 QB hits, six passes defended and four forced fumbles in 114 games (33 starts).Source: KPRC 2 Sports - Aaron Wilson
1 week agoThe San Francisco 49ers reached an agreement on an undisclosed one-year deal with free-agent veteran quarterback Joshua Dobbs on Monday, according to his agent, Mike McCartney. Dobbs will give the Niners more depth behind starter Brock Purdy after Sam Darnold signed with the Minnesota Vikings this offseason. The 29-year-old Dobbs was the early season feel-good story in the NFL last year with the Arizona Cardinals and Vikings, but he was ultimately benched in Minnesota after they acquired him in a trade. In 13 games played (12 starts), the Steelers' former fourth-round selection in 2017 out of Tennessee completed 62.8% of his pass attempts for 2,464 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Dobbs also added six rushing scores. He should be considered the favorite for backups duties over Brandon Allen.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
