3 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers could make a run to sign Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins if the 'Skins place the non-exclusive franchise tag on the QB. However, San Francisco would have to give up two first-round picks in that case. Once Cousins is tagged, the Redskins have until July 15 to reach a long-term deal. It's highly unlikely that Cousins goes on the open market and also unlikely that the Niners would give up two first-round picks, even though new San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan is fond of Cousins from their time together in D.C. It would be an upset if Cousins isn't in a Redskins uniform in 2017. He's proven he's at least a low-end QB1 the past two seasons, but with both receivers DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon possibly departing in free agency, Cousins may not have the weaponry to consistently put up big numbers like he has the last two years. Stay tuned.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
