Nikola Mirotic 2018-19 Player Outlook
6 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans forward Nikola Mirotic proved to be one of the best midseason pickups in 2017-18 and with a full preseason to work with his new team, he could shine even brighter in the new season. Mirotic scored 14.6 points per game for the Pels with 8.2 rebounds and had eight double-doubles in 30 games, even though he started just 11 times. The Spanish international logged a lot of minutes alongside Anthony Davis as the Pelicans like his floor-spacing ability that opens up room for AD. He'll face some good competition for playing time from Julius Randle in the upcoming season, but Randle doesn't have a reliable three-point shot, so Mirotic can feel pretty safe about his role. Combined with his games for the Bulls, Mirotic scored 15.6 points in 27.2 minutes, shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from downtown, while picking up a career-high 7.4 rebounds.
