7/17:It’s been a great day for the New York Mets on the injury front: we’ve already gotten good news on starting pitchers Noah Syndergaard and Matt Harvey. Now, we have some positives on second baseman Neil Walker. Walker has been running and testing out his injured hamstring; the injury has kept him on the shelf since June 15. Walker owns a .270/.352/.468 slash line with nine home runs, 13 doubles, 35 runs scored, and 33 RBI over 254 plate appearances this year, so he’s been solid enough when he’s been on the field. Considering he’s in a contract year, Walker will likely be making every effort necessary to get back on the field and show he’s healthy and productive.--Andrew Bua - RotoBaller
