Nathaniel Dell 2023 Outlook: Could Earn Starting Slot Role
2 years agoHouston Texans rookie wide receiver Nathaniel Dell was hand-picked by new quarterback C.J. Stroud in the third-round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Houston's receiver room is full of ambiguity, with veterans Robert Woods and Noah Brown joined by youngsters Nico Collins, John Metchie III, Xavier Hutchinson, and Dell. No role in the room is locked up, and Dell has been impressing early on in camps. Woods already stated that Dell has what it takes to find success in the NFL despite his 5-8 frame, and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik stated: "There's a bit of a learning curve, and when he's out on the field, he doesn't blink. I don't think anyone has noticed how big of a leap it is because he's been on it and been working." Dell is currently running with the second team, but with his quick learning he could easily be starting in no time. Dell led the nation with 17 receiving touchdowns last season and has the talent to make an immediate impact in a receiver room with no clear number one option.
