Myles Garrett 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Shows No Sign of Slowing Down
1 year agoCleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett continues to gradually improve year after year. In his previous season, he recorded 37 solo tackles, 23 assists, 18 tackles for loss, and 16.0 sacks, all of which were career-highs. It was his fifth straight season with double-digit sacks. At age 28, he shows no sign of slowing down. Instead, his production in most key categories has increased yearly since 2019. His sack totals went from 10.0 to 12.0 to 16.0 to 16.0 again. His tackle total and number of passes defended also increased each year. With the Browns having added Za'Darius Smith and Ogbo Okoronkwo this offseason, Cleveland should have a better pass rush coming from the right side, which could help Myles Garrett on the left. It will be harder for opposing offenses to double-team Garrett, and the quarterback might end up rolling into Garrett's presence when trying to avoid Smith. Garrett should be considered a slight upgrade over his Pro Bowl season in 2022.
