8/13:Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (face) served as the designated hitter in his first rehab start with Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday. If he doesn't suffer any setbacks, Haniger could rejoin the Mariners sometime late next week after taking a high-90s fastball from Mets starter Jacob deGrom late in July. In his first year with the M's, Haniger was hitting a mediocre .255 with seven home runs and 24 RBI. He has plenty of upside but hasn't been able to stay consistent in 2017, mainly due to injuries. His return will mean less playing time for Leonys Martin, and he could even be sent down to the minors until rosters expand in September.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
