6/17:This isn’t so much news as it is a formality, but the New York Mets placed starting pitcher Matt Harvey on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to June 15) due to a stress injury to his scapula bone in his right shoulder. Don’t let the “10-day” label fool you, it’s going to be a lot longer than that with a currently unknown timeline with the only thing we know being “a few weeks”. The injury bug didn’t stop there for the Amazins’, as outfielder Juan Lagares suffered a fractured IP joint in his left thumb and joins Harvey on the shelf. Shortstop Matt Reynolds and outfielder Brandon Nimmo were called up to replace the injured duo, but neither are realistic fantasy options. Playing time won’t be consistent for either, and neither of them were particularly outstanding throughout their Minor League careers.--Andrew Bua - RotoBaller
