8/13:The New York Mets traded second baseman Neil Walker to the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday in exchange for a player to be named later. Walker was on the trade block since before the July 31 trading deadline, and he joins first baseman Lucas Duda, relief pitcher Addison Reed and outfielder Jay Bruce to be traded away this season for a rebuilding Mets team. Walker's trade opens up considerable playing time at the keystone in Flushing, and it'll likely mean Asdrubal Cabrera will see most of the starts there in the foreseeable future -- he's a candidate for an August trade as well. The switch-hitting infielder really only appeals to those in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, though, as he's hitting a mediocre .262 with nine home runs and 34 RBI in 324 at-bats. Jose Reyes should see regular starts at third base now, too.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
