4/20:Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker posted a quality start on Thursday, tossing seven innings and giving up two runs on three hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Unfortunately for Shoemaker, two of his three hits allowed were solo home runs. That was enough to tag him with the loss, his first of the year. This is the first start of the year Shoemaker has made it out of the sixth inning, and the seven strikeouts gives him a very respectable 19:9 K:BB ratio on the season. The 30-year-old has been an up-and-down fantasy asset over his last two years, and this year will likely be no different. He will need to keep his walks down in order to remain relevant in all fantasy formats. For now, he is worth a roster spot in most leagues or as a streaming option in shallower formats. He is scheduled to face Oakland at home his next time around.--Andy P - RotoBaller
