8/6:Struggling New York Yankees’ designated hitter Matt Holliday is on the verge of once again landing on the disabled list according to manager Joe Girardi. The 37-year-old apparently tweaked his back on a swing Friday night, getting the night off on Saturday. Instead, he received treatment and will be evaluated by trainer Steve Donohue tomorrow. Back injuries have come to be a major issue for Holliday going back to his days with the St. Louis Cardinals. The veteran had produced well for the Yankees early on in the season, hitting .260 with 15 home runs and 47 RBI through May. Since returning from a DL stint, however, he’s simply not been the same.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
