4/27:At a time when the Mets need a lot more to go right, starting pitcher Matt Harvey unfortunately contributed to all that is going wrong. Harvey only lasted 4 1/3 innings pitching on short rest on Thursday afternoon in a 7-5 loss to the Braves, allowing six earned runs on five hits and an uncharacteristic five walks. The new pitch-to-contact Harvey only struck out one. On the year, Harvey now owns a 4.25 ERA with an uglier 5.50 FIP. He’s also putting up a career-low 5.46 K/9 and is on pace to set new career worsts (for a full season) with a 3.03 BB/9 and 1.82 HR/9. He deserves a bit of a pass today given the short rest, but it’s still a terrible day for fantasy owners. You still need to start him when he takes on the Braves again, this time in Atlanta, on Tuesday.--John Smith
