2 years agoThis news isn’t surprising, but New York Jets running back Matt Forte (knee) is expected to play on Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Forte was limited at practice most of the week with a knee injury, but that’s been the case pretty much before any game he’s played in this year. The Broncos defensive unit isn’t what it once was, so Forte shouldn’t have much trouble finishing as at least a viable flex option. The bigger obstacle for Forte are his teammates -- the Jets have been utilizing a three-man backfield with fellow running backs Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire -- so if Forte doesn’t reach the end zone, there’s a chance one of the other RBs finishes as the top option on the team. Forte is still the favorite, though.--John Smith
