6 months agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy (hamstring) was scheduled to take batting practice with the Gulf Coast Rays and was also scheduled for four to five at-bats in a simulated game in Port Charlotte. Duffy has been out all season but could be an option for the Rays lineup sometime next month. The 28-year-old hit .294 in 132 games for Tampa in 2018 with four homers, 44 RBI, 59 runs and 12 stolen bases. He's injury-prone and likely won't have a role that gives him regular playing time considering Yandy Diaz has locked third base down in 2019.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
