Matt Barnes 2020 Outlook: A Probable Strikeout Machine Once Again
5 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Matt Barnes should be a strikeout machine again in 2020. Barnes racked up 110 strikeouts in 64 1/3 innings last season, good for a 38.6 K% and 15.39 K/9. He did have some control issues, as seen by his 13.3 BB%, but was mostly able to pitch around those (likely in large part to the strikeouts). Barnes will start the season as one of Brandon Workman's main setup guys, and could be next in line if Workman struggles or gets hurt. Barnes is worth a final round pick in deeper leagues and should be owned in all holds formats.
