4 years agoMatt Adams was hoping that he could take advantage of an open opportunity at first base this spring and restake his claim to it. He turned in an admirable performance, hitting .292 with a home run and five RBI over 18 games, but it wasn't enough to displace his other competitors, Brandon Moss and Matt Holliday. With his big power all but assuredly gone for good, Adams will have a hard time pushing himself ahead of other players in fantasy lineups, let alone his own team, but the lifetime .276 hitter shouldn't have any problems rewarding deep leaguers who take the budget plunge.--Tony
