7/12:Houston Astros utility man Marwin Gonzalez will hit the field during Thursday's matchup with the Oakland A's. Gonzalez will start at shortstop and bat seventh in his return to the lineup. He missed Wednesday's game because he was spiked during Tuesday's matchup. The versatile fielder will generate many at-bats while Carlos Correa sits out. Gonzalez is an enticing waiver option because of his eligibility at five different positions, but he is also bound to break out of the slump he is in right now. Gonzalez hasn't hit a homer in the last two weeks, and has only hit six out so far this season while he tallied 23 home runs in 2017. Gonzalez will face righty Trevor Cahill as he attempts to make an impact in this already-loaded lineup. Expect Gonzalez to come out of the gates hot in the second half and keep an eye out for him on the waiver wire.--Tommy Vaughn - RotoBaller
