Marvin Mims 2023 Player Outlook: Speedy Field-Stretcher With No Clear Path To Playing Time
2 years agoRookie wide receiver Marvin Mims will join a crowded wideout room in 2023 after the Denver Broncos took him with the 63rd overall pick in the second round of this year's draft out of Oklahoma. The 5-foot-11, 183-pounder is smallish for an NFL receiver, but his speed should allow him to make some noise eventually as a deep threat in Denver's offense. He posted 1,083 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 54 receptions in his final collegiate season, and his 19.5 yard-per-catch average in three seasons with the Sooners shows his big-play ability. Mims could become an interesting deep threat for quarterback Russell Wilson, who we know loves to chuck the ball deep, but he'll also be competing with injury-prone receiver KJ Hamler and will be buried on the depth chart behind Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton and the returning Tim Patrick (knee). It's unrealistic to expect Mims to carve out a big role in his first NFL season, making him strictly a dynasty/keeper-league target in fantasy in 2023.
