Marvin Bagley 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoSacramento Kings power forward Marvin Bagley maybe didn’t make quite as many headlines last year as the player drafted after him, Luka Doncic, but nonetheless, Bagley certainly had a fantastic rookie year and proved he can be both a scoring and rebounding force in the NBA. Bagley averaged 14.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game as a rookie and also added a block per game. There’s no reason to doubt Bagley’s ability to improve upon all three of those stats this year, it’s just a question of how drastic the improvement will be. Last year, Bagley played about 25 minutes per game. This year, expect him to be over 30, which should allow him to reach about 18 points and over nine rebounds per game. Another aspect of his game which could really take him to the next level in fantasy terms is his three-point shooting. He made 0.5 per game last year, but if that becomes more of an emphasis this year and he can average around one three per game, he becomes even more valuable. Bagley has a lot of upside and an extremely safe floor heading into 2019-20. He’s a great target in the fifth round to be your second or third frontcourt piece.
