Marquese Chriss 2018-19 Player Outlook
6 years agoHouston Rockets forward/center Marquese Chriss let down a lot of fantasy owners last season as he failed to take a step forward from his solid rookie campaign. The eighth pick of the 2016 NBA Draft lost his place as a starter and ended up averaging 21.2 minutes per game. Chriss posted new career-highs with 5.5 rebounds and one block per game, but he shot just 42.3 percent from the field on his way to averaging a disappointing 5.5 points. He'll be expected to improve that in Houston, especially his stroke from downtown after making only 29.5 percent of his attempts from deep last season. Chriss seems like a very good fit for Houston as many consider him to be a more athletic version of Clint Capela and he's also a much better shooter, so there's potential for a breakout year. However, he's still far from being considered as a reliable fantasy option.
