8/23:Taking on a team hoping to make a push for a wild card spot, the Philadelphia Phillies rode the right arm of Mark Leiter to a shutout victory. The 26-year-old allowed just one hit across seven impressive innings, walking two and striking out five. With no runs surrendered and 96 pitches under his belt, he was pulled at that point with the game well in hand. This was just the fifth start for the rookie and easily his best, as he picked up his second victory of the season while his ERA dropped to 3.86 on the year. Leiter’s next start is scheduled for Tuesday night in Philadelphia against the Atlanta Braves.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
