5/19:Oakland A's shortstop Marcus Semien had a CT scan on his broken right wrist on Friday, and the results indicated the fracture had healed, allowing Semien to have the cast removed. Semien is without the cast for the first time since his April 1 surgery. He will still need to undergo some strength tests, but is optimistic he can return June 14, when he is eligible to come off the disabled list. “It’s a matter of being able to deal with the pain and get it strong again,” Semien said. “I’ve got to be able to move the wrist forward and back, all type of ways, and get the stiffness out. But it feels good. My goal is to be back as soon as I’m allowed to play.” Semien should step right back into his role as the A's starting shortstop, pushing Adam Rosales back into a utility role. Semien only hit .171 with one RBI before being injured but is coming off a 27-home run season and has the potential to provide value in the middle infield in all formats when he is healthy.--Andy P - RotoBaller
