7/21:Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Mallex Smith had a big ninth inning Friday versus the Marlins. He would come up with the bases loaded and cleared them with a triple. He would then score when the next batter hit a sacrifice fly. They lost 6-5 but the numbers still count for fantasy. Smith has very little power and despite the triple, he has only 23 RBI on the season. Smith has value for his speed, as he has 17 steals this season. His .288 batting average holds up fairly well against the later-round speed guys some people relied on when planning their team. He is not much of a shallow league option but plenty of leagues where he should be owned.--Jamie Mellor - RotoBaller
