Luiz Gohara Is Next Regime of Atlanta Starters
7 years agoLuiz Gohara had five starts for the Braves last year after starting the year in High-A. Gohara is only 21 years old and has already proven the talent to be successful in the big leagues. During Gohara’s 29.1 major league innings, he had 31 strikeouts and only eight walks, a K/BB of 3.88. Gohara did not have a problem pitching in the zone (54.2%), due to a fastball velocity of 96 miles-per-hour. He also benefited from getting a 61.8 percent first pitch strikes and a 13.4 swinging strike percentage. Even greater to the strikeouts, Gohara’s stats could have been even better. He had a 4.91 earned run average but an impressive 2.75 field independent pitching. 2018 will be his first full season in the rotation and opportunity to prove he is a frontline starter. Gohara is currently being drafted in the last couple of rounds. Be a little ambitious and draft him sooner to ensure your team benefits from his upside. This is the last time you can acquire Gohara in dynasty leagues with any sort of discount. In dynasty leagues with minor league rosters, draft him very early.
