Logan Forsythe Looks To Bounce Back In 2018
7 years agoAt this time last year, the Dodgers were lacking a second baseman and traded away hot pitching prospect Jose De Leon to the Rays for Logan Forsythe, who was coming off a strong 2016. Forsythe's 2017 campaign, however, delivered little in the way of fantasy and opened the door for the rise of Chris Taylor. Injury likely had a lot to do with it. Forsythe just didn't look like himself all season. He was especially atrocious against right-handers, slashing .190/.315/.262 with only three home runs and 20 RBIs in 286 plate appearances. He's never been a fantasy monster but should regress to his normal profile once he hits an entire season with good health. There was talk of trading him to clear cap space for a possible Yu Darvish signing. But with Darvish eventually signing with the Cubs, the path to playing time for Forsythe is clear once again. He makes a great buy-low in dynasty leagues to put in those MI slots and a decent late-round flyer.
