Lavonte David 2020 Outlook: Consistency Personified at LB
5 years agoTampa Bay Bucs linebacker Lavonte David has been one of the steadiest contributors in the NFL at linebacker for the past several years. He's collected over 100 combined tackles in seven of his eight pro seasons, missing a total of seven games in that span. David is on the field nearly every play too, registering a 99% defensive snap count last season.
David has slowed a bit since the early portion of his career when he racked up three consecutive seasons with at least 100 solo tackles. Still, he's averaged 5.86 solo stops per game over the past three years and finished 12th in that category in 2019. Part of an improving Tampa Bay Defense that added Shaq Barrett and Devin White last year, David no longer has to carry as much of the load but remains a model of consistent production at linebacker. For that reason, he enters 2020 in our consensus top 20 IDP rankings.
