Kylin Hill 2021 Outlook: Explosive Rookie With No Clear Path To Significant Touches
3 years agoMost people figured that Kylin Hill would be buried on the Green Bay Packers running back depth chart in his rookie season, but the 23-year-old seventh-round back is a powerful short-yardage runner and has emerged as the favorite for No. 3 duties behind Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon after a strong and impressive performance in his first NFL training camp. Dillon saw just 48 touches in 11 games as Green Bay's third backfield option in 2020, so Hill is unlikely to see a consistent workload. The Mississippi State product has plenty of explosiveness, is a good route-runner and has displayed soft hands as a pass-catcher during the preseason. Hill could carve out a limited third-down role in his rookie season. He's one to keep an eye on, but his path to relevance in fantasy leagues in both the short and long term will be steep, given Jones' recent extension and Dillon's standing as a former second-rounder.
