KJ Hamler 2023 Player Outlook: Injuries Continue To Set The Speedster Back
2 years agoSince the Denver Broncos took wide receiver KJ Hamler in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft, the early portion of his career has been defined by injuries. Hamler played in 13 games (four starts) in his rookie season, but since then, he's played in only 10 games in the last two years. The 23-year-old speedy deep threat suffered a torn ACL in 2021 and played in seven games in 2022 before he was shut down with a hamstring ailment. He also had surgery this March to fix a partially torn pectoral muscle and could get a late start to training camp as a result. Hamler has big-play ability because of his speed down the field, and he could bounce back in new head coach Sean Payton's offense, but he'll have to stay on the field for the first time in four seasons. His chances of making an impact in fantasy leagues has become more difficult in 2023 with the return of Tim Patrick (knee) and the addition of rookie Marvin Mims, who has a similar skill set to Hamler. Leave Hamler to the waiver wire to open the year in all redraft leagues.
