K.J. Hamler 2021 Outlook: Speedy Deep Threat Still More Of A Dynasty Asset
4 years agoWhen he was initially drafted in the second round of 2020, Denver Broncos wide receiver K.J. Hamler figured to serve as a speedy deep threat in a suddenly deep receiver corps. Because of the season-ending injury to Courtland Sutton, Hamler saw more offensive snaps than he would have otherwise. He caught 30 of his 56 targets for 381 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games (four starts). The 5-foot-9, 178-pounder dealt with multiple injuries, including a concussion that caused him to sit out the season finale. Because of his small stature, injuries could continue to be a problem for Hamler. However, even with a crowded group at receiver, the 21-year-old could see valuable playing time in the slot as a deep home run threat if he can stay on the field. Hamler's 11.0 average targeted air yards were right behind the likes of Julio Jones and A.J. Brown. He's still more attractive in dynasty/keeper leagues, but Hamler isn't a bad flier as a WR4/5 in deeper fantasy leagues.
