2 years agoThe Chicago Cubs acquired reliever Justin Wilson and catcher Alex Avila from the Detroit Tigers overnight. The Tigers received minor league infielders, Jeimer Candelario and Isaac Paredes along with a player to be named later (or cash). Wilson will become part of the setup situation ahead of Wade Davis. He will lose value in most leagues due to a loss of saves but he retains some value due to his ratios and the occasional win. Avila will become the backup catcher to Willson Contreras and loses value outside of two-catcher leagues and deep NL-only leagues. Candelario gains value in dynasty leagues due to moving to a better situation where he is not blocked by young superstars Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant.--Jamie Mellor - RotoBaller
