Justin Herbert 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Poised For A Bounce Back Under New OC Kellen Moore?
2 years agoIt's no secret Justin Herbert was largely a fantasy disappointment in 2022. He had fractured rib cartilage early in the year, his receivers were banged up, he was without his starting LT after Week 3, and OC Joe Lombardi was fired after LA blew a 27-point lead in the AFC Wildcard. Herbert only averaged 6.8 YPA in 2022 and it was an Unsolved Mystery as to why their offense featured so much dink-and-dunk and never pushed the ball downfield. Word around the league is that the Chargers will return to a more vertical air attack under new OC Kellen Moore which plays to Herbert's strengths. If the Chargers can remain healthy it's not hard to see their offense thriving in 2023 with Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and rookie WR Quentin Johnston in the mix.
