Junior Guerra Lacks Any Upside
7 years agoJunior Guerra’s season was riddled with injuries and poor performance. There was hope that Guerra would continue to be a good news story after a very good 2016 season, albeit as a 31-year-old rookie. He started the 2017 season as the opening day starter but injuries removed him from the rotation and he never regained his starting spot the rest of the year. At the end of the year, Guerra had a 5.12 earned run average and an even worse fielding independent pitching of 6.58. Guerra had a tremendous problem with control leading to a BB/9 of 5.50. A poor 38.9% pitches inside the strike zone further support this point. Guerra will be competing for one of the final Brewers starting rotation spots. Guerra should not be drafted in any format. At 33 years old, he has zero benefit to a dynasty team.
